When Seamwork released their new patterns earlier this month, my initial thought was, "That's cute, but I would never wear that." But that's before I was holding this really pretty waffle knit trying to decide what to make with it!

So, I had this waffle knit from Amelia Lane Designs, and I was trying to decide how to use it. It is gorgeous and I wanted to find the perfect pattern to show it off! I considered a basic tee shirt. I thought about a pattern with a cowl neckline. There was a possibility of making a cardigan, or maybe a dolman? Then I remembered seeing this pattern from Seamwork in my e-mail... you know the one that was cute but I would never wear. Well, with the help of a couple of sewing friends, I decided that this pattern would be perfect for this fabric and that I would in fact wear it.

Let's Talk About this BEAUTIFUL Fabric!
This is a very soft, nice quality waffle knit available now at Amelia Lane Designs. It is really gorgeous in person! They have it available in several colors right now in their NEW ARRIVALS section of their website. Seriously... I'm wanting ALL THE COLORS now!
All the Info about the Pattern:
This was a new pattern this month by Seamwork. If you're new to Seamwork, they have an online community you can join. There are different options for membership packages, and depending on what you pick, you can get one or more pattern credits a month. In my experience, the patterns are good, and I enjoy sewing them. I've never had any issues with them.
The pattern has long sleeves and a front and back pattern piece. It is a super quick pattern to sew. There is no neckband. The fold over, funnel neckline is included in the main bodice piece. Seriously REALLY FAST! I enjoyed sewing it, and will definitely make it again.
One thing to be aware of though, is that their patterns are drafted for a sewing cup C size, while the majority of patterns available are drafted for a B sewing cup. Sewing cup is NOT equal to bra cup size - sewing cup is the difference between your upper bust and full bust, while bra cup is equal to the difference between your full bust and underbust. They can be close, or drastically different - my sewing cup is a B, while my bra cup is an F.
Your sewing cup size is important for choosing a size because it can affect how the entire garment fits. If I had chosen a size based on my full bust measurement, the shoulders and all could have been too small, so I chose a size that would be appropriate to my upper bust and did a small bust adjustment.
If you're a person who typically needs a full bust adjustment, you might LOVE Seamwork, because with their patterns, you might not have to bother with that! If you have a smaller sewing cup size, this is something to keep in mind, because this might be a new adjustment for you! 😉
