The Pattern Emporium Trapeze Trio

So back a couple of years ago, Pattern Emporium released the Trapeze Trio for free for a limited time. I put off downloading it for too long, and I missed the offer. But it has always looked like such a nice pattern, so... during their sitewide sale a few weeks back, I decided to go ahead and grab it. I know, I know... I probably have something else similar, but I'm always curious about a new pattern. I love trying new things. I think it keeps me from getting bored. I have some patterns I repeat again and again, but I never lose the desire to try something new and different, whether it's a new pattern, a new-to-me designer, or a new fabric type, I love new things when it comes to sewing. **Disclosure: I have include my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern Emporium Pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** I recently tested for the first time for Pattern Emporiu...

Pattern Emporium Going Places

Y'all.... this dress. I just wish it was the right time of year here in the U.S. for me to LIVE in this dress. I love it oh so much!  **Disclosure: This blog post contains my affiliate link to the pattern I tested. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** When I saw the tester call for the Going Places Dress , I eagerly applied thinking it looks like something I would love! And, I do. 😉 I originally planned to make two - one of the fitted and one fit and flare. But I somehow have two fit and flare dresses and am still planning to make the fitted one!  It is such a classic style! I want several for every day next summer! 💓 The Pattern : As you've probably gathered, there are two big options for this dress- the fitted or the fit and flare. The fitted version can be made with a straight hem or with a flounce hem.The fit and flare has multiple length options- everything...

Daniel's Inspiration Hoodie

I saw an ad for a hoodie a little while ago... I kind of liked it for Daniel, so like any normal person would do, I took a screenshot so that I could attempt to recreate it. You know... why buy it for $14 when you can make it for around $10 + 2 hours? 😜 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern and fabric I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission from the sale at no additional cost to you!** So... there we have it! Daniel's color blocked tee! I made this version using the Dill Pickles Tee from Pickle Toes Designs/ Meyraki! Why An Inspired Sew? One thing I love about sewing is making things that are different or unique. I love making things that no one else has. But sometimes, it can be a really fun challenge to find something and see if you can recreate it. It's fun to see how close you can get to the original. It's also kind of fun to say, "I could have bought that.....

My New Favorite Sweater - Waffle Knit Fabric

When Seamwork released their new patterns earlier this month, my initial thought was, "That's cute, but I would never wear that." But that's before I was holding this really pretty waffle knit trying to decide what to make with it! **Disclosure: I have included my referral link to Seamwork Patterns throughout this post. If you use the link, I'll receive discounts on my Seamwork membership, and you'll receive a discount on yours!** So, I had this waffle knit from Amelia Lane Designs, and I was trying to decide how to use it. It is gorgeous and I wanted to find the perfect pattern to show it off! I considered a basic tee shirt. I thought about a pattern with a cowl neckline. There was a possibility of making a cardigan, or maybe a dolman? Then I remembered seeing this pattern from Seamwork in my e-mail... you know the one that was cute but I would never wear. Well, with the help of a couple of sewing friends, I decided that this pattern would be perfect f...

Heading Back to School 2019

Daniel is going back to school in a little over a week. He's READY. I'm not sure that I am though! We've enjoyed the summer but I'm going to miss him! But going back to school called for getting a few new outfits... Daniel helped me with some online fabric shopping so that we could make him what he wanted for school to start! Participating in the Back to School Blog Tour hosted by Paisley Roots ! seemed like the perfect reason to go ahead and get his new outfits made! So I'm sharing two new tee shirts with you today. I actually made him 4 new tee shirts in a week, but two are still in testing, so I don't get to share those just yet! 😉 ** Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns and fabric used, when applicable. If you choose to purchase a pattern or fabric using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Back to School Fabric : I've had this fabric for a while and I've been ...

The Peek-a-Boo Darcy Romper

Y'all, I love rompers. I have hardly made any recently though. Luke has been working on potty training, and they seem less convenient for that. Some of them take longer to sew than a pair of shorts. And sometimes, Luke doesn't want to wear them (I have no idea why). Those reasons paired with the fact that he has hand-me-down rompers from Daniel have deterred me from making him many. But... when I saw the Peek-a-Boo Darcy, I absolutely COULD NOT pass it up! It's ADORABLE, and has plenty of options to make it a super useful pattern! ** Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** The Pattern :https://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/darcy-romper-dress/?aff=472 (affiliate) THE OPTIONS included in This Pattern : This pattern includes sizes newborn all the way to size 12.
