Scotty's Favorite Shirt

Scotty always makes me so happy - he's wearing his Laura-made clothes every chance he gets. And, he's always happy to receive another shirt (whatever I choose to make). Sometimes he picks fabric, and sometimes I get to surprise him. He's generally easy to please. Sewing for him is SO fun because I know I'll get to see him wearing whatever I make again and again. It seriously makes my heart happy. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.** We have a few patterns that we've tried that we've liked a whole lot, and one that we've absolutely loved, and have used several times... that one was the 5 out of 4 Rocky Tee . I've shared about it before, but now that I've just made him his 6th or 7th Rocky , I decided that it was time to share about it again, and maybe show some of the fabulous long...

The Athina Kakou Lisa Dress

I kind of fell in love with the look of this pattern . It is really pretty and feminine. I love all of the details. The bust darts, the waist darts, the invisible zipper, the sash... I love the style. Athina Kakou decided to have a "Lisa and Kimberly Dress Month." So today is the day I'm sharing my Lisa dress.  Honestly, I did something rather silly - I didn't make a toile. I know. 🙈 I know better. I wish I had at least made a toile of the bodice first, because I'm pretty sure that with the fabric I chose, I could have sized down. My dress was a bit big. I ended up taking in my dress as much as I could without taking it apart. Do you ever reach that point in a project - the point where you're just ready to be finished with it. I was there. So my dress isn't perfect, and I have some ideas on what I want to do differently next time. But, it's still a pretty dress. Let's Talk about the Pattern :  As I mentioned, the pattern is full...

The Wardrobe by Me Amelia Bomber

I made a jacket, y'all! I think this might be the most complex pattern I've made before. I've really been pushing myself lately to stretch my skill set... and doing that has required that I sew woven fabrics a bit more. You know, I love knits because they're quick and easy to sew. Wovens require me to go more slowly, pin more, be more precise, and sometimes use closures (buttons, zippers, etc). **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns mentioned in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** So... my newest woven make is the Wardrobe by Me Amelia Bomber . I really love it! Information About the Pattern : The pattern has recently been updated to include sizes 0-24. It has a sporty look, but with the right combination of fabrics, it is also a very classic design. The jacket has a facing and a lining. The jacket is made for woven fabrics, alth...
