The Priscilla Top by Mamma Can Do It

I like wearing leggings some days. And when I wear leggings, I need to wear either a dress or a long, tunic length top. It's the most comfortable outfit. I don't have too many tunic length tops for the summer time though, and I jumped at the opportunity to test the new Priscilla Top by Mamma Can Do It! **Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to the patterns I used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my affiliate link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you. ** I made two Priscilla Tops during testing. I really love both! Let's Talk About This Pattern : This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. There is one length included (this long, tunic length). It has a handkerchief style hemline. It is really beautiful and unique! I haven't seen to many other top patterns around lately with this hemline! There are two options for the neckline (and arm holes for the tank version). You can either use regular bands, ...

My $5 dress! The Sunflower Tank by Mamma Can Do It

Wearing a tank top makes me think of hot weather, being outside, and plenty of sunshine. But, really they're the perfect layering piece and you can wear them ALL THE TIME. They're perfect under cardigans, wonderful for layering under that too-low-cut blouse, and I even wear them to church underneath a blazer in the Winter time. They're definitely a closet- staple. You need a handful of tank tops ready to grab when you decide you want to wear one, right? Well... let me tell you about this little pattern ! This is the Sunflower Tank by Mamma Can Do It . It has plenty of options so that you can make yourself a closet full of tank tops, if your heart desires. 😉 Do you want top length, tunic length, knee length dress, or long dress? Do you want your arms and neckline bound, or do you prefer bands? You've got quite a few ways you can sew this pattern without even thinking about the first "hack." My title suggests that my dress was $5 , so let me tell yo...

The Relaxed Fit Peplum by Mamma Can Do It

I tried to sew a peplum once a while back. It was a really popular pattern. I kept seeing it a lot in different Facebook sewing groups, so I decided to give it a go. I hated it. I didn't like the way it fit me. I liked the way it looked on a lot of people, but apparently, that particular pattern, needed A LOT of adjustments to fit my body. So I've used it a handful of times sewing for my little cousin, and I donated the top I made for myself to the thrift store. I still liked the style though, but have been reluctant to try making another peplum type top because of how that top fit me. BUT... when I saw the tester call for the Mamma Can Do It Relaxed Peplum top , I decided that I needed to try it. I love how their other patterns fit me, so it was worth the risk. 😉 A Little About This Pattern : This pattern really is a great one! It has lots of options, to make anyone happy. You can sew it in almost any fabric. You'll get different results, but they all look...

The Mamma Can Do It Fit Pants

What is more fun than wearing a pair of yoga pants? Wearing a pair of yoga pants that nobody will know is a pair of yoga pants! When you get a fabulous pattern like the Fit Pants by Mamma Can Do It , you can make some comfy pants that look a little more dressed up. To me, they look more like your casual clothes that you can wear anywhere. You can dress them up or down, however you like, by choosing different fabrics and by pairing them with different tops and shoes. This is really a great pattern! Sew these pants with any fabric that has about 50% stretch, and it will quickly become your favorite pattern! You can choose skinny leg, straight leg, or flared legs. I think my favorites will be skinny or flare, because they’re a bit more fitted along the thigh, which I like. You can choose to add pockets or no side pockets, three different options of back pockets (or none at all), elastic waistband or yoga waistband. There are instructions for lengthening or shortening the patter...

Dressing for Comfort in the Mamma Can Do It Adalynn

Who loves wearing comfortable clothes? EVERYONE, right? I love dressing comfortably, but I've never been a fan of wearing tees and yoga pants everywhere... I just like to look a little more "put-together." So, when I made my first Mamma Can Do It Adalynn Dress , it was LOVE. This dress is so comfortable to wear, you'll feel like you're wearing a nightgown. In fact, I asked my mama a few times, "I don't look like I'm wearing a nightgown, do I?" I didn't want to go out looking like I was dressed for bed. HA! But I was assured that I did not look like I was wearing a gown, and I received quite a few compliments on my first Adalynn, so I decided to make more! Comfortable for All Seasons You can really dress for ANY season with this pattern. It has long, 3/4 sleeve, and short sleeve options, and if you're handy with pattern-hacking, there are plenty of other opportunities if you use this as a base pattern. 😉 I made my first Ada...

A Perfect Party Outfit -- Mamma Can Do It Style

Y'all, my baby is ONE! Happy Birthday Luke!! He is my sweet little love. 💗💗 A big 25 lbs, happy, still doesn't sleep through the night, but oh well. He loves food, loves nursing, loves his mama, daddy, and big brother. He is able to walk, but crawling is his preferred method of getting around (he can get there faster 😉). He's been taking steps now for two months... you would think he'd prefer walking by now. 🤷 He loves playing with big brother's toys. He loves cars, trains, and dinosaurs, just like Daniel. He is so cute playing with the dinosaurs... he holds them and growls. I think he learned that from Daniel too! haha So for his first birthday party, we decided to have him a dinosaur theme party. We have ordered a dinosaur cake, bought bright, colorful decorations, and are so excited! His Outfit: I knew I wanted to make him something fun, and thought I would need to go to the fabric store. But, I started going through my old scraps the other da...
