The Athina Kakou Meg Top and Dress

I've sewed a few Athina Kakou Patterns , and I'm really loving them. I think Athina's sense of style must be at least somewhat similar to mine, because I LOVE pretty much every pattern she has designed. They are really pretty to me! 💓 So when she asked if I would test the Meg Dress & Top I didn't even hesitate. I really love it! Unfortunately, I did not have time to test the latest version of the top, due to my vacation and other things to which I had already committed, but I'll just say that the final version must be amazing, because I was so happy with Version 1... Improving on an already good thing means a great thing, right? Let's talk about this pattern : This pattern is drafted for woven fabrics. You can sew it either in hip-length top length or in dress length. It is a fairly quick sew because of the style. It has dolman sleeves, which are quicker and have a different fit than set in sleeves. There are optional turn up cuffs (I believe these ...

The Button Up Shirt by Winter Wear Designs

Okay, I admit to liking quick sews. It is so satisfying to me to have a new handmade something to wear... like NOW. So I don't choose more complicated/ time-consuming projects often enough. I almost  have to have a reason to choose a more time-consuming project. A blog tour or a pattern test is usually the perfect incentive for me to get something made, something awesome, but a little more time consuming...something like the Button Up Top by Winter Wear Designs ! The Placket Blog Tour gave me the push I needed to try this pattern, and I have to say... it's amazing. I'm sure I'll be using it again. Like I'm wanting to go get all the woven fabrics right now, all that quilting cotton I've been eyeing but didn't know what I would sew with it... I NEED it now! 😉 I have been looking at this pattern for a WHILE. I have made button up shirts for my little boy, but never one for me. And, I've wanted to, but I didn't want to spend the time doing it! HA...

Truly a Classic -- The Winter Wear Designs Classic Shell

Don't you just love the feeling you get when you finish sewing something, and it's absolutely love? That's exactly how I felt when I finished my new Classic Shell by Winter Wear Designs .  This really is an amazing pattern! As a part of the Winter Wear Designs Bring on the Blouse Blog Tour, I'm going to share with you a little about this blouse and why I love this pattern (and reasons you might need to own it, if you don't already)! A Little About This Pattern The Classic Shell is a woven pattern packed full of options. It includes bust darts for a beautiful, flattering shape, four sleeve lengths (long, short, 3/4 length, or tulip sleeves), cutting options for both a top and a tunic, options to finish the neckline with a facing or with bias tape, and an optional keyhole in the back. All of this for the always amazing price of $5.00! That's a STEAL if you ask me! You probably spent more than that on Starbucks, and it didn't make you look this ...
