LIVERPOOL! And the Sashay Shorts

Liverpool is one of my FAVORITE fabrics. It might be my favorite thing to sew, because it is SO easy to sew. I also love that it doesn't wrinkle. Like cram it in a suitcase, take it out, and it's ready to put on. And it's got a bit of structure, but also drapes so it's really pretty on. It's good for lots of things. Dresses, skirts, shorts. When I saw that ALD was stocking some liverpool , I got excited. I love liverpool! Unfortunately, this liverpool that I sewed up sold out like super fast. So, they don't have this print any longer, but they have some other really gorgeous ones! ( Seriously... check out this one . I bought it for matching outfits for my sister and me). **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns I've used in this post. Easter Sewing 2020

I love sewing for all the holidays. I love making things for the boys for Christmas, Valentine's, St. Patrick's, Easter... Every holiday they get something new. Generally for Christmas and Easter, they'll get two new things - one is their "fun" holiday outfit, and one is dressier for Church. This year has been tough. Somehow I thought that since we're home all the time, I'd have more sewing time. Nope, not the case. I've barely found any sewing time. I love sewing, but the kids have worn me out during the day! I typically do a lot of sewing after they go to bed (at least a few nights a week), but recently, I'm ready to sleep as soon as they are! So... I was VERY last minute this year sewing Easter attire. I looked weeks ago at Joann's to get ideas of fabric for their dressy outfits. I found a beautiful light blue shirting that I planned to go back and get. It was not on sale that day, and I was already using my coupon for something else. ...

5 out of 4 Shenanigan's Skort and Michelle Fitted Tee

It's September in Louisiana, and the days are still HOT! The high is still around 95 degrees a lot of days. I'm kind of ready for cooler weather, but in the meantime, I'm trying to keep cool and comfortable. → Enters new outfit made in athletic wear!  **Disclosure -  I have included my affiliate link to the patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you ** This is the 5 out of 4 Shenanigan's Skort and Michelle Fitted Tee Shirt. The Skort:  This is a pattern you really want to add to your stash, and a skirt you really need to add to your closet, I promise. It is so comfortable. There are different lengths to choose from for the skirt, there are short leggings underneath. It's perfect for tennis, running, going to the gym, chasing kiddos... you choose. I've already worn mine to the gym, to play in the yard in the heat, and to watch m...

The Puperita Swank Tee and Bermuda Shorts/Pants

You may have noticed that I really LOVE Puperita Patterns. I sew them frequently for my boys. Their closet is FULL of Puperita! I love how they fit them, and the patterns are perfect for everyday wear. **Disclosure: This post contains an affiliate link to the fabric used for Daniel's shirt. If you choose to order fabric from Peek-a-boo using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** So... when the newest patterns were ready for testing, I excitedly applied. New Puperita Releases are all a surprise, so even for testers, you don't know exactly what you're testing. But, I am always excited to test or to be surprised with the new release!  So, this is the Puperita Swank Tee and Bermuda Shorts/ Pants patterns. The Tee : The tee is a knit raglan tee with a couple of options - you can make it with short or long sleeves. The tee can also be made with a crew neckline or as a mock turtleneck. I made Daniel two d...

Puperita Peppy and Perky - Summer Staples!

Puperita is releasing FOUR new patterns today! 🎉 I love Puperita! My boys' closet is filled up with Puperita patterns! They have rompers, shorts, tee shirts, button downs, vests, dressy church clothes from their Puperita Patterns. I never hesitate to try a new pattern, and am always happy with the outcome. I also really enjoy testing for Annalisa. She is generally very organized, and I am always happy enough with the fit of even the first version, so I never feel like there is a waste of fabric. So... as usual, she announced that she needed testers for some new patterns. But the patterns were a surprise. I jumped at the opportunity to test, because I really needed motivation to kickstart the boys' summer wardrobe. I decided to test for Luke. I was super happy when I finally saw the patterns to test! 💙 The Perky Top :  This is the only one of the four patterns that I did not sew. It is intended for girls. It is drafted for woven fabric, and is similar to the one I did t...

Vacation Ready - A Couple of Winter Wear Designs Favorites

This month's Winter Wear Design's Blog Tour is "Poolside." I contemplated for a few minutes whether I would have time to sew and blog about it with all of my other obligations (Vacation Bible School, getting the house in order before vacation), but ultimately, I REALLY wanted to, so I signed up. Upon finishing my sewing, I realized, I probably, actually did NOT have time for this, hahaha But at least I got a new outfit (that I LOVE) for vacation! I wasn't initially sure what I wanted to do with this theme. We go swimming some, but I have a couple of bathing suits, and that's really all I need for right now. And, I've never really used swim cover ups. I usually go straight from the house to the pool, and then to the shower, so as cute as a cover up would have been, I just probably wouldn't use it. I hate to spend precious sewing time making something that won't really get much wear, so I decided to get a little creative! I chose to make a fu...
