I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. Do you love wearing tee shirts? They're so comfortable, but I love feeling "put together." I enjoy wearing comfortable clothes that also could double as something work/ church/ whatever appropriate. Part of my love for sewing knits probably comes from my love for wearing knits. They're just so soft and easy to wear, but with the right pattern and the right fabric, you can really look a little dressed up. I first tried the Tidewater Tee by Winter Wear Designs over the summer. I loved the style, but needed to work on the pattern a little to get my perfect fit. This top was made to be a summer top - it has short sleeves or cold shoulder sleeves included in the pattern. It has a back yoke with a cute cut-out in the back. It's the perfect summer top. I love free patterns, especially when they're by a designer that I already know and love. When Suzanne with Winter Wear Designs drafted this pattern , I was excited! I have not been very exciting with my wardrobe choices in the past - most of my shirts were just basic tees. Solid tees are still nice to have, but it's so much fun to wear something different. I love free stuff. It makes me happy. I especially like free stuff when it's a quality sewing pattern. Have you tried the Sew A Little Seam Movie Night PJ's ? I made them for the first time last week, and right now, I'm trying to figure out WHY I waited so long! It's a great pattern, with lots of options. It's FREE, and it's so good that it's worth printing and trying out! Let me tell you about it... This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. It is for a two piece pajamas set (a shirt and shorts or pants). You can make a short sleeve or long sleeve tee. The pants have cut lines for shorts, capris, or long pants. The shirt can have a regular sleeve or a gathered sleeve. The shirt is finished with a hem at the bottom and sleeve cuffs. The pants can either be made with a yoga waistband or with an elastic casing. There is also an option to add a button or snap placket to the shirt. See... lots of options. Daniel has been asking since about July when Halloween is. He REALLY wanted to be Batman for Halloween. I knew he would change his mind before October, so I waited to sew his costume. After all, kids change their minds, right? I should have known better. Daniel is stubborn and when he makes a decision, (whether good or bad), he sticks with it. Last year, he decided very early that he wanted to be an airline pilot for Halloween, and I was surprised that he even knew what an airline pilot was or what they wore, but he did, and I obliged, making him an airline pilot costume. When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate.
