Fancy, Fancy! Free SLEEVE add on by Winter Wear Designs!

Do you love wearing tee shirts? They're so comfortable, but I love feeling "put together." I enjoy wearing comfortable clothes that also could double as something work/ church/ whatever appropriate. Part of my love for sewing knits probably comes from my love for wearing knits. They're just so soft and easy to wear, but with the right pattern and the right fabric, you can really look a little dressed up.

I first tried the Tidewater Tee by Winter Wear Designs over the summer. I loved the style, but needed to work on the pattern a little to get my perfect fit. This top was made to be a summer top - it has short sleeves or cold shoulder sleeves included in the pattern. It has a back yoke with a cute cut-out in the back. It's the perfect summer top. But it's so cute, why not use it year-round?

When Suzanne of Winter Wear Designs mentioned that she was making a sleeve add-on that would work with her knit patterns, I knew I HAD to sew the Tidewater Tee again! I've wanted to try it again making a broad shoulder adjustment, but thought I'd probably wait on warmer weather. But testing the sleeve add-on made now the perfect time to try the pattern again.

Suzanne is giving us a couple of new sleeve options. Yes, GIVING. Isn't she so generous this time of year? (And always really with her weekly sales 😉) In her new FREE sleeve collection, she has added a fitted sleeve with a circle flounce, a gathered poet sleeve with a cuff (that hits at 3/4 length), and a bishop sleeve with cuff. You can find the code for this freebie in her Facebook Group!

All of her new sleeve add-ons are so beautiful that it was hard to decide which I wanted to try first! I had this beautiful rose fabric from a KnitPop scrap pack that I have REALLY been wanting to use. I had barely enough to sew the top using a gathered poet sleeve, so my fabric chose for me. Isn't that the best? 😉 And I just so happened to have these pretty red heels to match the roses. I found them on clearance years ago. This wasn't a typical purchase for me because I'm usually so practical when it comes to shoe purchases. Ha! But I love them with it!

As I mentioned, I used the Tidewater Tee (a favorite because of its unique style). I used a broad shoulder adjustment to get a better fit, and used the new sleeve pattern. It was very easy to sew and everything went together perfectly.

I'm dying to try the Bishop Sleeve! That'll probably be my next Winter Wear Designs sew! 💗 She has such beautiful patterns. I'm quickly filling my closet up with them!

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
