CKC Hollis Crossover Hem Tee

I love this top! 💓 It's more than just a basic tee, but it's just as comfortable as one!

This is CKC Hollis! This pattern makes such a cute top to pair with jeans or leggings, and is a surprisingly easy sew! You have a few options for sewing this pattern!

The Sleeves:

This pattern comes with different sleeve lengths to make the perfect top for any time of year. The sleeves are finished with a simple cuff, for a very easy finish! I love not having to measure and pin a hem! 😉 I made both of my tops with long sleeves, because it's so cold right now! I wanted a couple of tops to keep me warm!

The Crossover Band:

There are two options for the bottom crossover on this pattern. For each of my two shirts, I used the curved hem band. You can optionally use a solid (straight/ non-curved) band. Both of them look beautiful - I feel like the straight band might be slightly more beginner-friendly, however.

The Lengths:

Shannon has the pattern pieces marked for different lengths already. You can choose to cut at petite line, regular line, or tall line. She has a hem band marked for each length so that it'll fit perfectly. I used the regular cut line, because I am 5'5" tall, and it is the perfect length for me.

The Fit:

This top has more of a comfortable, relaxed fit. I really love it! The length of the top hits me long enough that I could comfortably wear it with leggings, which I love - More options!

Fabric:

This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics.  I used double brushed poly for both of mine! I love DBP because there are so many prints available and it's so warm this time of year! 💓

The white floral is from a Knitpop Scrap Box! I have really enjoyed my scrap box and definitely recommend you checking them out! http://bit.ly/2KKjW9y (affiliate link)

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
