So, as you may have seen, Sinclair Patterns is running a sale this week! It's the last week of the year, and she has marked everything in her shop 25% off for a boxing day/ End of Year Sale! So generous!
I started sewing more for myself in 2018, and discovered a couple of pattern designers that I love using for my clothes... Sinclair is one of them! I've mentioned before that I get a really great fit from her patterns. Every Sinclair pattern I have tried has been on regular rotation. They're all so perfect, and fit my body type wonderfully.
So since she is having a sale, I started looking back at photos so that I could share the sale in Facebook Sewing Groups. I noticed how many Sinclair Patterns I've made, so I thought it would be fun to do a 2018 Sinclair Pattern round up to see all of my Sinclair sews in one place! 🙂
So... Here we go!

So... Here we go!
The Betty
The Betty was the very first Sinclair pattern I tried, and that's when I fell in LOVE with Sinclair! I actually was selected to test this pattern, and really enjoyed the testing process. I learned that Oxana is pretty easy going and fun to test for. And she knows what she is doing! The pattern went together so perfectly and fit so well. I really enjoyed making it!
This dress is a faux wrap dress with pretty pleats along the waistline on the bodice and skirt. It has a petal like faux wrap skirt and a modest wrap bodice. It's drafted for knit fabrics, and is very comfortable to wear, and fairly quick to sew!

The Jolee
I don't have the best photos of this one... just a cell phone photo from when I wore it during Me Made May. But this is a basic tank top! It is definitely a wardrobe-staple. You might enjoy wearing it alone in the summer, or as a base layer when it cools off! I made mine in a solid DBP, and it's so comfortable!
The Shelby
I looked at this pattern for a while before I actually tried it. I wanted a loose-fit tank that I could wear with pencil skirts and pants, and wasn't sure that this was the one... but it was! It was a favorite for me all summer! I made it using some DTY I bought at Joann's almost two years ago. I was waiting for the right pattern to come along,and I found it! I actually think I made this one during a Sinclair Shelby Sew-Along. I can't wait for summer so I can put this top back in regular rotation!
The Cachet
This pattern is so nice. I made a couple over the summer using some super soft double brushed poly. I was drawn to it because of the quick sew! With no inset sleeves, it takes less time to put together! The fabric requirements are probably a little less than a yard for my size. It ended up being one of my favorite things to wear. It's so comfortable and I love the fit!
I also made it with some Bamboo Spandex from Nature's Fabrics.

The Xena
This pattern is a little different from what I usually sew! The racerback is so fun, and the gathers make it really pretty! The pattern has some options for a regular racerback top, a bra top, or a racerback top with built in bra. It's definitely worth looking at, and PERFECT for wearing during the Louisiana summer heat!
The Bondi is my ideal fitted tee! It's fitted at the bust with a little negative ease, but has a little positive ease at the waist, so it is SO flattering! I only have one so far, but I've gotten so much wear out of it... I'm positive I'll use the pattern again! It's such a great staple to have in my pattern collection! Everyone needs a favorite basic tee shirt pattern, and I'm pretty sure this is mine!
The Dakota
I made this one recently for a pattern test. I was drawn to the shape of the skirt and the different bodice options. It's really a favorite dress now, so I'm SO glad to have the pattern! I made the dress during the test, and the tunic after it was released. I can't wait to make more. I'll certainly have a few of these in short sleeves for the summer! The blue dress length was made using the crew neckline option, and the fabric is double brushed poly. The floral tunic was made with the scoop neckline, and the fabric is rayon spandex. I've already worn both several times!

The Sydney
Honestly, I didn't know if "cocoon" style cardigans were for me, but I couldn't pass this one up. The fabric requirements got me! You need about a yard for the 3/4 length sleeves and a little over a yard for the long sleeves. And well.... I LOVE it! I shouldn't have been surprised, because EVERY Sinclair Pattern has been a favorite for me! This cardigan has already been on heavy rotation for both my sister and me! We enjoy wearing them together. In fact, we matched wearing these on Christmas day!
Some Information on Sinclair Patterns:
The Drafting:
Many people love Sinclair Patterns, for a very good reason! The drafting on her patterns is SO good. The sizes run consistently and fit perfectly according to measurements. She knows what she is doing!
She also drafts patterns in 3 different ranges -- petite, regular, and tall. It's a bit more work for her, but SO many people appreciate not having to make major alterations to their patterns to get the right length. Personally, I fit into the "regular" size range at 5'5", but it's nice to have options!
The Detail:
So much detail is put into her patterns and tutorials. I LOVE that she gives information on the amount of ease at different points in her patterns. You don't see this with all PDF/Indie designers. It's so nice to be able to use her measurement chart along with the amount of ease you want to choose your size!
As with most PDF designers, she uses photos throughout her instructions to explain steps. This can be very helpful for beginners. Every step is well-explained!
The Seam Allowance:
All of the Sinclair Patterns that I have tried use a 1/4" seam allowance. This is the perfect serger seam allowance because you don't really trim anything. Some people love this, and others prefer a slightly larger seam allowance .... that part is personal preference, but these do come with the 1/4".
The Price:
Sinclair patterns are so affordable! It's easy to be tempted and talked into trying something new at her prices!
