The Tank Dress 3-ways by Pattern Emporium

It's been a while since I posted. I've been sewing, helping my kindergartener with virtual school, and living, which just hasn't left me with a lot of time for blogging! Life happens!  But... I've kind of missed writing, and I decided that now was the perfect time to make a new post. I had the opportunity to sew a pattern I really liked, and I got excited enough to find the motivation to write about it! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern from Pattern Emporium using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The pattern I tested is from Pattern Emporium. I love their patterns for a few reasons. I've posted before that I have kind of broad shoulders and on with some designers I have to adjust patterns to fit them. There are a couple of designers that seem to fit me well with no adjustments to the pattern pieces and this is one of them. I...

The Seamwork Neenah

I've been kind of looking at this pattern for a while. I have resisted making it, however, because I never liked turtlenecks. The thought of a turtleneck took me back to those turtlenecks I hated so much when I was a little girl. I didn't really like things touching my neck, and some of them were just too tight. **Disclosure: I have included my referral link to SEAMWORK in this post. If you choose to subscribe to Seamwork using my referral link, you'll receive a discount on your first month, and I'll receive credits towards my membership** And I probably would have continued resisting this pattern , had I not gotten my hands on this beautiful ribbing. And ALL I could think about was how this beautiful ribbing would be so pretty sewn up with this pattern .  I was going to have to get over myself and try a turtleneck. And I'm kind of glad I did. This Fabric: This beautiful ribbing is one of the new fabrics stocking this week at Amelia Lane Des...

Pattern Emporium Going Places

Y'all.... this dress. I just wish it was the right time of year here in the U.S. for me to LIVE in this dress. I love it oh so much!  **Disclosure: This blog post contains my affiliate link to the pattern I tested. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** When I saw the tester call for the Going Places Dress , I eagerly applied thinking it looks like something I would love! And, I do. 😉 I originally planned to make two - one of the fitted and one fit and flare. But I somehow have two fit and flare dresses and am still planning to make the fitted one!  It is such a classic style! I want several for every day next summer! 💓 The Pattern : As you've probably gathered, there are two big options for this dress- the fitted or the fit and flare. The fitted version can be made with a straight hem or with a flounce hem.The fit and flare has multiple length options- everything...

The Wardrobe by Me Carma Camisole

Every now and then you have to try something a little different. Right? I haven't ever really had a dress like this... the kind with the little thin straps. And I'm not 100% sure that it's really "my thing," but I really like it anyway! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** The second I saw this new fabric by Amelia Lane Designs , I got this idea in my head. I had only one yard of this beautiful print to work with, so I was a bit limited with what I could do. Initially, I planned to make a top, but with the large scale of the print, I was worried that you wouldn't really be able to see the print, so I settled on a dress. There are not many dresses I can cut from one yard, but then I remembered seeing this one on the Wardrobe by Me website. This is the Wardrobe by Me Carma . Despite the fact...

The Wardrobe by Me Akinori Dress

I sew knits a LOT. I love just serging everything together. It's faster, and I've gotten pretty good with knits. However, occasionally, I choose a woven item to push myself. It forces me to take my time, to try new things, and to work with a different fabric type. There is always something to learn. When I signed up for testing the revamped version of the Wardrobe by Me Akinori Dress, I knew it would force me to do something new, but I also knew, that in the end, I would have something new that I love! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used in this post. If you choose to purchase a Wardrobe by Me Pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you!** So... here's my Akinori Dress !  This pattern is very unique! I haven't seen another even similar to it! It is drafted for woven fabrics. You can optionally use a knit without much stretch (you might need to size down a bit). It has a k...

My Sinclair Betty/ Dakota Mash Up!

The Betty Dress was the first Sinclair Pattern I EVER tried. I had always heard great things, so when I saw the tester call for this dress, I excitedly applied. That was about a year ago I guess! It's hard to believe! Did you know that, for some reason, the one I made for testing was the only Betty Dress I've ever made, until recently! It was not, however the only Sinclair Pattern I've made, by far!  **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you!** I had intended to make another, but wanted to change the skirt up a bit. I LOVE the look of the original skirt that comes with the pattern, but it felt less practical for everyday wear with toddlers. My Betty became a favorite dress for church when I wasn't constantly chasing little kiddos. 😉 So when I decided to sew this Betty , I immediately remembered my Dak...

The Jessica by Sinclair Patterns

Sinclair has been another of my favorite designers since I tried my first one! I've loved the fit, how easily they go together, the fact that the pattern pieces are perfectly marked, and that the instructions are really phenomenal. They have all gone together easily, and become staples in my wardrobe. **Disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission from the sale at no additional cost to you!** I've had the Jessica pattern for a while, and have been intending to try it for months, but have been putting it off for no real reason at all. I just never made time to sew it. And I don't know why, because all I needed was about an hour or two. 🤷 When I got this Liverpool fabric from Amelia Lane Designs , I knew it needed to be something beautiful! I played around with different ideas, and actually printed a different pattern first, but then remembered this one....

Dressing Up in the Satara Shirt Dress by Winter Wear Designs!

"Take that dress off mommy... that's a princess dress, and you are NOT a princess," my four year old told me when I tried the dress on for the first time. According to him, I am JUST a mommy. I'll take it though - I like being his mommy, although, I WILL wear my new dress! "Princess Dress" is absolutely not what came to my mind when I saw this pattern... when I think "Princess Dress," frills, ruffles, and lace comes to my mind, and those things just don't really suit me, but this one does. Let's talk about this pattern! 😉 **Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using an affiliate link, I will receive a small commission from the sale at no additional cost to you.** I participated in the "Dressed Up" Blog Tour hosted by Winter Wear Designs. I chose to make the Satara Shirt Dress for the first time for this tour. I love a lot of things about this p...
