My Rosanna Swim Dress

I've been eying this pattern for a while. Like maybe since it released? I've always loved swim dresses. I've had a few through the years, but I've had trouble finding them. So this pattern stood out to me. I love them because I still felt feminine, but covered, especially for the beach, or public pools. ** Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern from 5 out of 4 using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no a I was excited to try this one out, but I was also a little nervous, because what if I didn't like the fit? I always get a little nervous to possibly waste fabric. But, I guess that's a risk you have to take every now and again. 😉 I made the swim dress. It's not perfect, and I now know of a few minor adjustments I'll make next time, but this one is totally wearable, and I really love it!  This is my Rosanna Swim Dress ! All About This ...

LIVERPOOL! And the Sashay Shorts

Liverpool is one of my FAVORITE fabrics. It might be my favorite thing to sew, because it is SO easy to sew. I also love that it doesn't wrinkle. Like cram it in a suitcase, take it out, and it's ready to put on. And it's got a bit of structure, but also drapes so it's really pretty on. It's good for lots of things. Dresses, skirts, shorts. When I saw that ALD was stocking some liverpool , I got excited. I love liverpool! Unfortunately, this liverpool that I sewed up sold out like super fast. So, they don't have this print any longer, but they have some other really gorgeous ones! ( Seriously... check out this one . I bought it for matching outfits for my sister and me). **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns I've used in this post. The Whitney Dress by AK Patterns

I love dresses. I have quite a few hanging in my closet. I find them so comfortable, and I also feel pretty when  I wear one. This one is already a favorite for me! This is the Whitney Dress by AK Patterns . When Athina sent her testing group an e-mail about this pattern , I was a little hesitant at first. I absolutely LOVE the style, but I've had such limited sewing time, and the dress looked a bit time consuming at first. I also was a little reluctant to test because this is a knit sewing pattern, and I only have regular interfacing. With the way things are right now, I knew I couldn't get out to get knit interfacing. So, I e-mailed Athina. She told me knit interfacing is suggested, but that my regular interfacing would probably be fine. So... I decided to test, and I'm REALLY glad I did. Putting the Pattern Together:  Truthfully, this pattern took me a while to tape together and cut out. I taped it all together one afternoon. Then that night after the boys went t...

The Sinclair Rio Tank

It's been a little bit since I've tested for Sinclair, but if you've been following me for any time, you probably know that I have a love for Sinclair Patterns. They fit me SO well. So, when Oxana posted a picture of herself wearing this new tank one day, I loved it, and I eagerly applied to test immediately. When I joined the testing group, I fell even more in love with the tank. Not only is it very cute, but the finishes on this tank are also SO nice. You won't be disappointed. This is the Sinclair RIO Tank !  Sinclair has other tanks... what sets this one apart?  I've sewn her other tanks - the Jolee is a fitted tank. It's pretty fitted everywhere. The Shelby fits at the bust and flares out toward the hem. Here is a blog post I made previously about some Sinclair Patterns I've sewn. You can see both the Jolee and Shelby in this post . This tank fits a bit differently from both of those. It is fitted at the bust, has a bit more ease at th...

New Athletic Set - the Hybrid Fabric from Amelia Lane Designs

When it comes to sewing, I'm always excited to try something new. When Amelia Lane Designs announced they're stocking some "hybrid" athletic fabric, I was pretty excited to try it. I struggled a bit deciding what to sew though. I've made a few pairs of leggings in the past with athletics, and love them, but they're not getting a ton of wear at the moment, because it's already getting too hot outside! I've made two bralette type bra tops in the past, but never anything for exercise, and I've kind of been wanting to try. So I decided that this was the perfect time to find the motivation to try something new - like a sports bra. Don't worry - I tried on scraps first 😉 **Disclosure: I've included my affiliate link to the patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** There are quite a few sports bra type patterns out there...
