The Sinclair Rio Tank

It's been a little bit since I've tested for Sinclair, but if you've been following me for any time, you probably know that I have a love for Sinclair Patterns. They fit me SO well.

So, when Oxana posted a picture of herself wearing this new tank one day, I loved it, and I eagerly applied to test immediately.

When I joined the testing group, I fell even more in love with the tank. Not only is it very cute, but the finishes on this tank are also SO nice. You won't be disappointed.

This is the Sinclair RIO Tank

Sinclair has other tanks... what sets this one apart?

I've sewn her other tanks - the Jolee is a fitted tank. It's pretty fitted everywhere. The Shelby fits at the bust and flares out toward the hem. Here is a blog post I made previously about some Sinclair Patterns I've sewn. You can see both the Jolee and Shelby in this post.

This tank fits a bit differently from both of those. It is fitted at the bust, has a bit more ease at the waist, and just a little ease at the hips.  It also has a beautiful curved hemline!

Also, this one is finished so nicely. I believe the other two tanks are finished with bands. This is finished with double fold binding at the neckline and arms. The hem is also faced, rather than just turned up. It really has a professional finish!

My Rio Tanks:

I made two Rio Tanks during testing - the first one is Version 1, and some changes were made before the final was released. Version 1 was the dark floral. The final version was the pink floral.

For the dark floral, I made a size 4 bust blended with a 6 waist and hips.

For the pink, I made a size 2 bust, blended to a 6 waist and hips. My bust measurement ALMOST hits the 4, but since DBP is very stretchy, I decided to go to a 2. I generally sew a 4 in Sinclair patterns.

I like the fit of both the 2 and the 4 in this pattern.

The Release:

The pattern has just released, and is presently on sale. The pattern is marked to $5.99 through May 20, 2020.

I get so excited about new patterns. 😊 One of my favorite designers is releasing TWO new patterns together this month, and I'm thrilled to share about them! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns used for this post. It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.  Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for sle...

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect ...

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I deci...
