My New Outfit!

I tested a pair of joggers a while ago for a different company... I struggled to get a good fit during the test, and I know pants can be hard to fit. So, although I have been intrigued by some different patterns since then, I haven't tried making other joggers for myself.  Well, I've been eying this pattern for quite a while because it looked so good. I also have always gotten a good fit using Sinclair patterns, but had not tried any of their pants until now. I kind of expected them to be good though, because everything by Sinclair is! So here are my JJ Joggers . About the Pattern :   This is an easy jogger pattern. There are two length options - Long and below the knee length. They have a waistband with cased elastic and a drawstring, and pockets.  They can be made using knit fabrics with 30-50% stretch. The waistband and leg cuffs should be made using a fabric with great recovery though.  For my pants, I chose to use a thick 2" elastic I had on hand rather than the...

The Pattern Emporium Unwind

I have had a busy couple of months. I saw the tester call for this pattern, and I liked the style, but I just COULDN'T. I can't do everything, as much as I might like to. 😜 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to make a purchase using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This is the Pattern Emporium Unwind ... and I'm so excited to have one!  This will be the perfect pattern for the fall as the weather begins to change. It is the perfect piece for looking put together while also being super comfortable.  All About the Pattern : The Unwind Sweater/ Jumper is a dolman style pullover top. There are no separate sleeve pieces as they are all one piece with the bodice. It is very easy and VERY quick to make!  It can be made in many different fabrics, and looks great in all of them! You can see a video that Kate made about the Unwind, showing her many versions, here  ...

LIVERPOOL! And the Sashay Shorts

Liverpool is one of my FAVORITE fabrics. It might be my favorite thing to sew, because it is SO easy to sew. I also love that it doesn't wrinkle. Like cram it in a suitcase, take it out, and it's ready to put on. And it's got a bit of structure, but also drapes so it's really pretty on. It's good for lots of things. Dresses, skirts, shorts. When I saw that ALD was stocking some liverpool , I got excited. I love liverpool! Unfortunately, this liverpool that I sewed up sold out like super fast. So, they don't have this print any longer, but they have some other really gorgeous ones! ( Seriously... check out this one . I bought it for matching outfits for my sister and me). **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns I've used in this post. A Perfect Pair - My Mama's Newest Sinclair Ivy

When this fabric came, I was planning to sew it for my mama. I've made her a few tops in the past couple of months and planned to use one of the same patterns - either the Love Notions Laundry Day Tee or the Wardrobe by Me Sneha Tunic. I didn't order any coordinates to go with it, so I planned to make the whole top from the same fabric. I was getting ready to cut it out last weekend, but I needed to clean up some of my mess first from my last couple of sewing projects. So I started folding scraps, and put them to the side... right beside my folded new fabric for the top. I kind of fell in love with the two fabrics together. So here is my accidental coordinate: The NEW "ELLIS" Rayon Spandex from Amelia Lane Designs and their Denim Pointelle. Aren't they just beautiful together? So I KNEW I had to use them together. My mind immediately went to the Sinclair Ivy. It is perfect for using two fabrics, I already had had her size printed because I've made he...

Sew Yourself Some Love with Winter Wear Designs

Suzanne of Winter Wear Designs is hosting a blog tour this week - the "Sew Yourself Some Love" tour. All of the participants of the tour sewed something for themselves this week.  I decided to sew something for myself, and something for someone I love as well - my sister.  **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to make a purchase using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no cost to you.** Choosing A Pattern:  I've made A LOT of Winter Wear Designs patterns over the last couple of years. Around the time I started sewing more for myself, I also started this blog. Shortly after starting my blog, I found myself fortunate enough to be added to Suzanne's blogging group, and I've really loved it!  For this blog tour, I wanted to make something I knew I was going to love. Y'all, I sew A LOT. But recently I've realized that I don't have THAT MANY knit t...

Sewing with Pointelle

A little more than a year ago, one afternoon I drove my granddaddy somewhere. When I got him back home, he gave me twenty-five dollars and told me to buy some fabric to make my sister and me something. He told me that he'd like us to have something in lilac. So, of course, I went home, ordered some lilac DBP and ordered it. We both have tops. Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs got this lavender pointelle, I kind of fell in love with the color. When it arrived, I realized it was almost the exact same color as our lilac tops that we already have. But that's okay? You can't really have too much of a good thing, right? I knew from the second I saw the fabric what I was going to make with it. And, I knew I was going to make two - so my sister and me could match! **Disclosure: I have used my affiliate link for the pattern I used for this post. The Pattern Emporium Trapeze Trio

So back a couple of years ago, Pattern Emporium released the Trapeze Trio for free for a limited time. I put off downloading it for too long, and I missed the offer. But it has always looked like such a nice pattern, so... during their sitewide sale a few weeks back, I decided to go ahead and grab it. I know, I know... I probably have something else similar, but I'm always curious about a new pattern. I love trying new things. I think it keeps me from getting bored. I have some patterns I repeat again and again, but I never lose the desire to try something new and different, whether it's a new pattern, a new-to-me designer, or a new fabric type, I love new things when it comes to sewing. **Disclosure: I have include my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern Emporium Pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** I recently tested for the first time for Pattern Emporiu...

The Seamwork Neenah

I've been kind of looking at this pattern for a while. I have resisted making it, however, because I never liked turtlenecks. The thought of a turtleneck took me back to those turtlenecks I hated so much when I was a little girl. I didn't really like things touching my neck, and some of them were just too tight. **Disclosure: I have included my referral link to SEAMWORK in this post. If you choose to subscribe to Seamwork using my referral link, you'll receive a discount on your first month, and I'll receive credits towards my membership** And I probably would have continued resisting this pattern , had I not gotten my hands on this beautiful ribbing. And ALL I could think about was how this beautiful ribbing would be so pretty sewn up with this pattern .  I was going to have to get over myself and try a turtleneck. And I'm kind of glad I did. This Fabric: This beautiful ribbing is one of the new fabrics stocking this week at Amelia Lane Des...
