It's my day on the Winter Wear Designs Outerwear Blog tour! I'm so excited to share my new Twin Peaks Cardigan with you!! I never feel like I have enough cardigans... I honestly haven't purchased one in YEARS! And... I have now made myself two for this fall, and of the two... this is my favorite! I thought the blog tour was NEXT WEEK, so I was last minute sewing my cardigan up! I was excited to make it, but it was pushed to the back burner while I finished up Halloween Costumes and other fall clothes for the kiddos. But I took a much -needed break from the kids' sewing to make this for myself!  I have figured out exactly what adjustments I need for my  body when using Winter Wear Designs patterns, which makes me SO HAPPY, because it makes the process of trying a new pattern so easy and so fun! It's fall... and I haven't made anything for my nephew since the spring I think! He needed something new, but if you ever sew for tweens, you have probably noticed the disparity between the number of patterns available that will fit little kids verses the ones that will fit tweens (this is especially true for boys). There are quite a few patterns available from different pattern makers that stop at a size 12. I've even found several men's patterns, but his measurements are still a couple of inches away. This is what I LOVE about Pickle Toes . Have you ever looked at their size charts? Their kids patterns fit all the way from a size 2 for the little kids to a big kid size 22! WHOA!!! Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! I love free stuff. It makes me happy. I especially like free stuff when it's a quality sewing pattern. Have you tried the Sew A Little Seam Movie Night PJ's ? I made them for the first time last week, and right now, I'm trying to figure out WHY I waited so long! It's a great pattern, with lots of options. It's FREE, and it's so good that it's worth printing and trying out! Let me tell you about it... This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. It is for a two piece pajamas set (a shirt and shorts or pants). You can make a short sleeve or long sleeve tee. The pants have cut lines for shorts, capris, or long pants. The shirt can have a regular sleeve or a gathered sleeve. The shirt is finished with a hem at the bottom and sleeve cuffs. The pants can either be made with a yoga waistband or with an elastic casing. There is also an option to add a button or snap placket to the shirt. See... lots of options. Daniel has been asking since about July when Halloween is. He REALLY wanted to be Batman for Halloween. I knew he would change his mind before October, so I waited to sew his costume. After all, kids change their minds, right? I should have known better. Daniel is stubborn and when he makes a decision, (whether good or bad), he sticks with it. Last year, he decided very early that he wanted to be an airline pilot for Halloween, and I was surprised that he even knew what an airline pilot was or what they wore, but he did, and I obliged, making him an airline pilot costume.
