More Athletic-Wear... leggings and a tank

So for this set, I tried ANOTHER new to me pattern! More new athletic fabric from Amelia Lane Designs plus another awesome pattern = another great athletic set! So... let's talk about this one! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to some of the patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The Pattern : Have you ever been so intrigued by a pattern that you couldn't wait to try it? Then when you got ready to actually try it, it was different from everything you'd ever used, so you got a bit intimidated. And it took awhile for you to to find the courage? No? Well... that was totally me with this pattern . This pattern really was awesome, but wow, was it different from anything else! That can be a good thing, right? This pattern designer really thinks outside the box, so to speak, and came up with something really great, but really diff...

My New Athletic Set by Greenstyle

Every now and then, I try something new... like a new fabric or a new designer. Sometimes I try both at the same time, and end up with something I love - like this Athletic Set. This week, Amelia Lane Designs has stocked several new athletic fabrics. I'll be honest - life has been a little crazy the last several weeks, and I haven't found the time without the kids to make it to the gym... every now and again, we need a little motivation. So I thought a new athletic set might do it for me. And, yep, I love this set and kind of can't wait to wear these leggings to the gym! The Greenstyle Strides: I used the Strides from Greenstyle for my leggings. I'd seen this pattern shared around. It seems to be quite popular in the PDF athletic sewing world. I was intrigued by the side panel with a pocket. I've never had leggings with a pocket. So I liked that there would be somewhere to store my phone! But, every time I try a pants pattern, I get nervous. SO muc...

Pattern Emporium Going Places

Y'all.... this dress. I just wish it was the right time of year here in the U.S. for me to LIVE in this dress. I love it oh so much!  **Disclosure: This blog post contains my affiliate link to the pattern I tested. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** When I saw the tester call for the Going Places Dress , I eagerly applied thinking it looks like something I would love! And, I do. 😉 I originally planned to make two - one of the fitted and one fit and flare. But I somehow have two fit and flare dresses and am still planning to make the fitted one!  It is such a classic style! I want several for every day next summer! 💓 The Pattern : As you've probably gathered, there are two big options for this dress- the fitted or the fit and flare. The fitted version can be made with a straight hem or with a flounce hem.The fit and flare has multiple length options- everything...

The Amelia Lane Designs Dream Tee

If you're like me, you enjoy trying something new. And it's not often that you get to sew a pattern and fabric from the SAME company! 😉 Amelia Lane Designs recently released their first pattern - the Dream Tee, and I had the opportunity to sew it in new ALD fabric - this beautiful Two-Tone Mustard. I really love the result!!  As I mentioned, this is the first pattern released by Amelia Lane Designs. I'm amazed at how much they've grown in the almost- year that they've been in business. From supplying lots of beautiful fabrics to becoming quite the resource for information on patterns, hacks, adjustments, and more on their blog, to now releasing a pattern, WOW!  The Pattern : This is called the Dream Tee . It was sparked by an idea that Mya has had in her head for a while, and she worked SO hard to pull this off! It is really a nice pattern for so many reasons!  It is a dolman style top or dress . You have the option for adding in 3/4 or long ...

The 5 out of 4 Weekender

I remember seeing the Weekender Tunic when it released. I remember liking it on everyone, but I didn't get the pattern. I have one of those never-ending, always-growing list of sewing projects that I'll get to one day. Then I buy fabric with different sewing projects in mind... are you like me? 😉 Well I finally sewed up the Weekender Tunic this week, and.... um.... Why on Earth did I wait so long?? Y'all this pattern is awesome! It's my new favorite sweater!! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern from 5 out of 4 using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Have you ever had this happen to you? You put off making something, and then you wonder how you've lived without it? Don't get me wrong, I love most of the things I make... but every now and then, I'll try a finished project on, and I get REALLY excited. ...

The Annelaine Mark

I've been into color-blocking lately. It's a really fun way to use solids, small scraps, and custom fabrics to keep the cost down. Also, if you want to use only solids, you can use color-blocking to make something totally cool and NOT boring. Solid tees have their place, but my nearly 5 year old doesn't want to wear solids all the time, and I don't blame him! There are so many fun prints out there, and fun looks... why would he want to wear a plain ol' blue shirt when he could have something much more fun?  **Disclosure: This post contains my affiliate link to the pattern I used to make this shirt. If you choose to purchase a pattern from Annelaine Patterns using my link, I'll receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.** So when I saw the Mark Tee , I knew I had to try it, and I knew I had to try one of the color-blocked options! I really liked this color-blocked option the best. It is a little different from other recent sews, and...

New Halloween Tees!

I've never loved Halloween. No real reason, just never liked it. Dressing up isn't my thing. I don't care for the scary stuff. Somehow the dressing up and trick-or-treating and all the decorations just doesn't appeal to me. But... OH MY GOODNESS... I have a child who is obsessed. He loves everything Halloween. If it's scary, he likes it. If it's a pumpkin, a ghost, a skeleton, anything that could be Halloween related, he wants it. He's teaching his little brother to appreciate the holiday as well. While I was walking through Hobby Lobby the other day, Luke spotted orange flowers... he yelled about the "Halloween Flowers" until we exited the store. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the fabric used in this post. If you choose to make a purchase from Peek-a-boo using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Even though I don't love Halloween, when Peek-a-boo put their fall pri...
