Liverpool Joggers 😍 - The Urban Sweats by Wardrobe by Me

I've used liverpool MANY times. It's one of my favorite fabric types, but generally, I've only used it to make dresses and skirts in the past. But now I'm wondering why!  Liverpool makes AWESOME joggers! They look nicer than actual sweatpants, but are just as comfy. I can wear them and still look "put together" but feel like I'm wearing pajama pants! That's really cool, right? It's enough to make anyone happy! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used throughout this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my affiliate link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you!** So when I got this beautiful mauve, floral liverpool from Amelia Lane Designs , I immediately planned to make a pencil skirt to go with this dolman top I made a couple of weeks ago. But then, when I was ready to cut, I just wasn't feeling it. I was not sure I would like the pencil skirt with the to...

Jaycee's Joggers by CKC

I bought a couple of 2 yard cuts of cotton lycra a WHILE ago. I've been meaning to try my hand at making lounge pants or leggings, but just haven't. I've done all kinds of other things, and I always think I want something new that I can wear outside of the house rather than another pair of lounge pants. But the truth is, I don't actually have THAT many pairs of lounge pants! I have one pair of yoga pants, a pair of knee length yoga pants, and old pants I wore for danceline practice in high-school. I could really use more around-the-house pants. Mamas deserve lounge pants. 🤣 So... I did it! I spent a few minutes sewing up the new Jaycee's Joggers by CKC Patterns . These can be your super basic joggers (the version I did), or you have options to change them up a bit. Let me tell you all about this pattern. About Jaycee's Joggers : As I mentioned, you can make these joggers as basic as you would like. There are front leg, bag leg, waistband, and ankleba...

The Hepburn Pants by Wardrobe by Me

I've been sewing for about three and a half years, and didn't really even try pants until this year. I wanted to try sooner, but became intimidated when I saw Facebook posts about fit issues, how to adjust patterns, what kinds of fabric worked best, etc. There is so much to take into account when you want sew pants! I got my courage up earlier this year to make my first pair of jeans , and I'm glad I did, because although they are nowhere near perfect, they gave me the courage to try all sorts of new things. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? I think this applies to life AND sewing too! 😉 I honestly don't have that many pairs of pants. I have pants that are YEARS old. Like from WAY before Daniel was born, and then I've got jeans and leggings I've bought since he was born, but the jeans are even getting worn out. Story of a stay at home mama. I just didn't feel like I could justify buying a lot of pants since I'm not working, and s...

Back to the Busy Wearing Winter Wear Designs

Back to work for teachers, back to school for kiddos, back to college, back to grad school, back to homework, back to lesson planning, back to grading papers, back to sports, back to afternoon practice, back to driving back and forth for mamas, back to BUSY. You know it... as soon as the school year starts life gets a little busier, and a little more hectic for EVERYONE, so you can at least dress comfortably, right? As a part of the Winter Wear Designs "2018 Back 2 School Blog Tour," I'm going to show you how I used their patterns to put together a few looks that really work for me! Let's look at a couple of items that I love. These things are so comfy, I feel like I need several of each, and I could wear them ALL THE TIME. As you know, I'm staying home right now while my kiddos are small, but when they get a little older and start going to school full time, there's a good chance I'll go back to teaching. So... while I'm enjoying sewing al...

The Mamma Can Do It Fit Pants

What is more fun than wearing a pair of yoga pants? Wearing a pair of yoga pants that nobody will know is a pair of yoga pants! When you get a fabulous pattern like the Fit Pants by Mamma Can Do It , you can make some comfy pants that look a little more dressed up. To me, they look more like your casual clothes that you can wear anywhere. You can dress them up or down, however you like, by choosing different fabrics and by pairing them with different tops and shoes. This is really a great pattern! Sew these pants with any fabric that has about 50% stretch, and it will quickly become your favorite pattern! You can choose skinny leg, straight leg, or flared legs. I think my favorites will be skinny or flare, because they’re a bit more fitted along the thigh, which I like. You can choose to add pockets or no side pockets, three different options of back pockets (or none at all), elastic waistband or yoga waistband. There are instructions for lengthening or shortening the patter...
