The Sew A Little Seam Marin

So, I think this will probably be my last post about swimwear for a while. I think. No promises though 😉 This pattern has been on my "to-make" list for the longest. I just kept not getting around to it. I loved how many options it has, and I've definitely been meaning to try it. But to be honest, I'm really just now getting comfortable with swim.  Previously, I was afraid to sew it because I was scared the suit would fit me funny. I hate wasting materials! But like everything else, sewing and fitting swimwear is kind of a trial and error type thing. You do it, and learn a bit every time. None of my suits are perfect, but I've learned a little from each of them, and can now semi-confidently dive into one. I've learned methods I prefer, I've learned what length I want the elastic in a shelf bra, and I've learned some tricks to sewing with swim. While none of my suits are perfect, they're all wearable. And they all fit as good as, or better than, sui...

The Gloria Peplum by 5 out of 4 Patterns

So, my mama discovered ITY fabric this summer, and y'all, I think it might be her favorite thing ever. It's so breezy and cool to wear. I kind of love it too!  Back a couple of months ago, we bought two solids to make her something with. But I had a case of "Sewing Distraction" and never did. I mean, I've made her a couple of other things since we got the solids, but not the solid fabric. So, I recently pulled it out trying to decide what to make with it.  She has always been a little picky about what she wears, so I've been nervous to make her something - what if it doesn't fit the way she likes it? What if it's not her ? Well I'm happy to report that sewing something to your exact measurements is WAY  less stressful than going shopping in a department store. Sometimes our bodies require different sizes in different places. Sometimes we need to adjust for height. Sometimes we need other random adjustments to get our perfect fit. So, obviou...

The Relaxed Fit Peplum by Mamma Can Do It

I tried to sew a peplum once a while back. It was a really popular pattern. I kept seeing it a lot in different Facebook sewing groups, so I decided to give it a go. I hated it. I didn't like the way it fit me. I liked the way it looked on a lot of people, but apparently, that particular pattern, needed A LOT of adjustments to fit my body. So I've used it a handful of times sewing for my little cousin, and I donated the top I made for myself to the thrift store. I still liked the style though, but have been reluctant to try making another peplum type top because of how that top fit me. BUT... when I saw the tester call for the Mamma Can Do It Relaxed Peplum top , I decided that I needed to try it. I love how their other patterns fit me, so it was worth the risk. 😉 A Little About This Pattern : This pattern really is a great one! It has lots of options, to make anyone happy. You can sew it in almost any fabric. You'll get different results, but they all look...
