Back around Christmas, Matthew fell in love with Peppa Pig. Luke watched it sometimes too, but Matthew REALLY loved it. So, for one of his gifts, I made him a Peppa tee shirt. Luke was SO jealous. A little more than a year ago, one afternoon I drove my granddaddy somewhere. When I got him back home, he gave me twenty-five dollars and told me to buy some fabric to make my sister and me something. He told me that he'd like us to have something in lilac. Last year, I saw this fabric, and fell in love. I bought it and have had it folded on a shelf for close to a year.  Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs stocked this one, I got so excited because it was JUST like my beautiful hoarded gold/brown medallion fabric, but had more blue/grey tones. It's been a bit since I've pattern tested for Scotty. Leah bought some royal blue fabric several weeks ago for me to make a tee shirt for Scotty, so when I saw the pattern test by Wardrobe by Me, I decided that it was the perfect time to make him a couple of new shirts. Wardrobe by Me is releasing both the short sleeve "Classic Tee" and the long sleeve "Breton Tee." They are both classic designs, but have some differences setting them apart from one another. The Classic Tee : The Classic Tee is your regular short sleeve tee shirt design. It's designed for jersey fabric with or without stretch. The neckline should be made using a ribbed fabric (or something with good stretch and recovery). It is drafted in sizes 2XS-3XL (27.5" to 45" Chest). I've had this fabric for a few weeks with plans of making some tee shirts for Valentine's Day... I knew what I wanted to make, but had not decided which pattern to use. As soon as I received the fabric, I prewashed everything. I prewashed the burgundy like seven or so times to make sure it didn't bleed on the white in future washes! But then I didn't sew it until this week! I spent too much time trying to decide which pattern to use to make these basic shirts. I knew I wanted to make a short sleeve shirt from the sharks layered over an attached long sleeve with a burgundy neckband. Simple. But I put it off because I wanted to make sure I used something with a slim enough long sleeve for the short sleeve to fit easily over, and I was trying to decide. Also, I kind of don't enjoy sewing sleeves in the round, and kind of don't do it unless it's necessary (with layered sleeves or woven fabrics).
