I'm so happy for the opportunity to try and review the Athina Kakou Samantha Dress! If you've been following me long, you might have picked up on my love for wrap dresses. I've made quite a few, and have really loved them all for different reasons! So... this is just my latest wrap dress addition to my closet, and yep, I love it too! 😃 The Samantha Dress is very nice, and has several differences from other wrap dress patterns that I own. Let's talk about what sets this pattern apart! The BIG difference between this dress and other wrap dress patterns I own is the sleeves! This pattern does not have regular set in sleeves. It uses dolman style (grown-on) sleeves. Another difference in this pattern and others I own is the darts at the waistline at the front and back. I sew so much that I very rarely find myself in a ladies' clothing store. I honestly get most of my inspiration from what I see other people make in Facebook Sewing Groups or I just see a fabric and get an idea myself.  This time though... I love Wardrobe by Me Patterns. Every pattern I have made goes together so easily, fits so well, and has been a favorite for me. She has several men's patterns, but until recently, I had not made one. When I saw the tester call for the Tropical Shirt, I immediately wanted to test it! It really doesn't look like something my husband would wear, however. I looked at the sizes hoping that my nephew might fit. I had looked at her mens' sizing chart last year when she released her polo. But he didn't quite fit then. I was happy to discover that his chest measurement now fits into her 2XS patterns! I LOVE this dress! I love the fit, the style, the fabric, the print, the softness, the way it feels, the way it makes me feel. They have the best prints and solid bamboo fabrics. If you've never sewn with or worn bamboo lycra, you should sometime. It really is amazing. It's one of the softest fabrics around.
