Feeling Inspired?

I sew so much that I very rarely find myself in a ladies' clothing store. I honestly get most of my inspiration from what I see other people make in Facebook Sewing Groups or I just see a fabric and get an idea myself.

This time though... I was using someone else's idea, and I love how it turned out!!

When Mya of Amelia Lane Designs posted that they were going to be making these "Inspiration Bundles," I was immediately drawn to them! She had a picture similar to this one.

Amelia Lane Designs is offering "Inspiration Bundles" so that you can make a shirt similar to this one in blush, blue, or mint. They are also including fabric for making leggings to pair with your new top! How cool is this? I have seen some people make tops very similar to this one (I did), and others used the three included fabrics and came up with their own idea, or were inspired by a different item to recreate.

If you choose to purchase one of these bundles, you will receive 1 yard of DBP (either blush, mint, or blue - your choice), one yard of grey and white striped jersey, and one yard of white modal jersey. You will also receive 1.5 yards of black or charcoal supplex to make a pair of leggings or pants for yourself.

The jersey for the top is lightweight and very nice for warm weather. The supplex on the leggings is so wonderful! They are so comfortable, have plenty of stretch, but still cover everything so well!

So we've talked about the fabric... now let's discuss patterns!

**disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to these patterns in this post. If you choose to purchase one of these patterns using my link, I will receive a small commission from the sale at no additional charge to you**

This pattern has two different color blocking options - you can choose the above the bust color block or the below the bust color block. I went with above as I felt like it was closest to the inspiration picture I was using.

There are short, 3/4 or long sleeves to choose from. There is color blocking included in the sleeves as well. The long sleeves are finished with a cuff.

This was my first time making myself an E&M pattern. I have noticed when sewing other designers in the past that I occasionally need a broad shoulder adjustment, depending on the designer. I don't with every designer. But when I put together this pattern, I realized that the shoulders looked a little narrow for me. I decided to do a 0.5" broad shoulder adjustment to the pattern. After sewing my first one, I would probably broaden it a little more and adjust the armscye a little next time. But, I'm happy with this shirt and I know I'll wear it plenty!

I love Sinclair Patterns. I've loved every single one I've tried. For some reason, I've put off sewing leggings this long... I've made regular pants, joggers, but never leggings. NO IDEA WHY. These were so super easy to put together. The fit is amazing. And I LOVE this pattern, just like every other Sinclair Pattern I've tried.

These leggings have two waistband options (the classic, which is a rectangle, or the comfort - which is taller and contoured). There are two waist cutlines on the patterns - the taller pairs with the classic waistband, and the lower pairs with the comfort waistband. You can sew them at cropped length or long length.

I used the comfort/ contoured waistband for mine, and mine were full length. I was one size larger in the waist than the hips, but I just blended sizes. It was very easy, and the fit was perfect!

The leggings have negative ease at the waist and hips. The pattern includes both a body measurement chart and a finished measurement chart, which you can use to determine which size you would rather have.

I definitely recommend this pattern

So there's my inspiration outfit!

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect ...

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I deci...
