The Puperita Swank Tee and Bermuda Shorts/Pants

You may have noticed that I really LOVE Puperita Patterns. I sew them frequently for my boys. Their closet is FULL of Puperita! I love how they fit them, and the patterns are perfect for everyday wear.

**Disclosure: This post contains an affiliate link to the fabric used for Daniel's shirt. If you choose to order fabric from Peek-a-boo using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you**

So... when the newest patterns were ready for testing, I excitedly applied. New Puperita Releases are all a surprise, so even for testers, you don't know exactly what you're testing. But, I am always excited to test or to be surprised with the new release!

The tee is a knit raglan tee with a couple of options - you can make it with short or long sleeves. The tee can also be made with a crew neckline or as a mock turtleneck.

I made Daniel two during testing. Both are short sleeves, because it's still near 100 degrees every day in Louisiana.

The first I made was with some Doodles Interlock from Joanns that we got last year. He had a shirt similar to this one before, but this is a bigger size. 😊 The sleeves and neckband were made from a coordinating cotton lycra.

The second I made was from solid cotton lycra that I ordered from Peek-a-boo Fabric Shop. I love their fabrics - their solids and prints are awesome! He has been asking for a shirt with the "whole world" on it, so here's my take at that... my applique was a bit big, and maybe not entirely accurate, but he loves it!

Y'all these shorts are SO CUTE! They have front pockets and cute little pleats. They are a modern take on a classic look. Annalisa does the best at achieving this - every time! I'm always amazed!

They have elastic only in the back, and have a flat front waistband. They are VERY easy and quick to sew. They have a bermuda shorts length and a pants length. The legs are tapered, and they look so nice! They can be made in woven fabrics, or even with a sturdier knit fabric. I'm thinking ponte could be very nice too!

I made Daniel some using denim, because denim is so versatile and matches pretty much everything! I love that.

I'm looking forward to making him a pants length pair for when the weather cools bit! I already have more denim 💗👖

These patterns are drafted in sizes newborn all the way to size 10! YAY!

They are available in the Puperita Etsy Shop. On release day (August 22, 2019) only, you can get them at a special bundle price.

So.... go check them out! Share your makes in the Puperita Group

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
