The Hello Gorgeous by Pattern Emporium

I have had this pattern for a bit waiting for me to sew it. I loved the style of it, and the options. I kind of couldn't get over the sleeves, but I don't love gathering, so I put it off.

I put it off for a while... until I had the perfect fabric for it!

This is the Pattern Emporium Hello Gorgeous:

Isn't it gorgeous? I sewed it up in a couple of hours last weekend. It did take a tad bit longer than a basic tee, but I think it was worth it! The sleeves are so cool! I seriously love them!

This pattern has several options for sewing it up including neckline options (a really cool almost-square neck in both a higher and lower cut option, and both a high and low round neckline). It has really awesome puff sleeves in four lengths, and two separate cut lines for a shorter or longer bodice.

I made this top for my sister. She is pregnant, and I was initially looking for a maternity pattern. She told me though that she has a few non-maternity tee shirts that fit well - they're just longer. She measured one of these tops, gave me the side seam length, and I made the side sleeve of this top match those. It's perfect! I ended up adding two inches to the length of the long top.

She measures into a size 8 bust. Pre-pregnancy, she probably measured into an 8 waist too. However, I decided to grade to a size 10 waist/ hips to give her some growing room!

I tried the top on myself as soon as I was finished sewing it, and it was a tunic length on me - it was a great length to wear with leggings!

The puff sleeves on the top can be made in short, above and below the elbow with cuffs, or you can use these long sleeve extension pieces to make it long sleeved. I am OBSESSED with the sleeves!

The Fabric:

This week, Amelia Lane Designs stocked several new prints, some ribbing, some DBP, and liverpool. They have some really awesome tie dye prints.

This fabric is one of the new ribbing fabrics. It is so soft! It is called "Boone." They have a few other really gorgeous ones too!

They'll be on sale for a few days (through Monday 10/26/20). Don't miss out on the "New Arrivals"

I get so excited about new patterns. 😊 One of my favorite designers is releasing TWO new patterns together this month, and I'm thrilled to share about them! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns used for this post. It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.  Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for sle...

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect ...

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I deci...
