The sleeves are what drew me in! I loved the look of the pleats and the fullness on the shoulders. It is such an easy sew, because it's a basic tee shirt with as Shannon has called it, "extra" sleeves! This is CKC Angel's! It really is so cute and so quick! All About the Pattern : This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. You can use just about any knit fabric, but keep in mind that the more stable the fabric you use, the more structure you'll have on the sleeves (something like liverpool or ponte would be AMAZING). You can choose to make a top length or a dress length. The dress is a basic knit, tee shirt dress (swing dress style). The top is a semi-fitted tee. You can choose to sew either the crew neckline or the scoop neck. The sleeves are pleated down each side towards the armscye and have a dart at the top to help hold the shape. This pattern makes such a cute top to pair with jeans or leggings, and is a surprisingly easy sew! You have a few options for sewing this pattern! The Sleeves: This pattern comes with different sleeve lengths to make the perfect top for any time of year. The sleeves are finished with a simple cuff, for a very easy finish! I love not having to measure and pin a hem! 😉 I made both of my tops with long sleeves, because it's so cold right now! I wanted a couple of tops to keep me warm! The Crossover Band: There are two options for the bottom crossover on this pattern. For each of my two shirts, I used the curved hem band. You can optionally use a solid (straight/ non-curved) band. I bought a couple of 2 yard cuts of cotton lycra a WHILE ago. I've been meaning to try my hand at making lounge pants or leggings, but just haven't. I've done all kinds of other things, and I always think I want something new that I can wear outside of the house rather than another pair of lounge pants. But the truth is, I don't actually have THAT many pairs of lounge pants! I have one pair of yoga pants, a pair of knee length yoga pants, and old pants I wore for danceline practice in high-school. I LOVE rompers. Everybody knows that. I just can't get over how cute little boys look in them. So, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to test  this little pattern in the summer, and even more thrilled when Kristen decided to add pants to the pattern for the fall! CKC Huxley's Perfect for Any Season:  This pattern is an easy sew, perfect for woven fabrics. It can be used in the spring or summer using either the high-cut cut lines (see those cute little chubby legs) or using the shorts length cut lines. When I saw this pattern tester call, I REALLY liked the top. I loved the detail on the sleeves. I liked the optional elbow patches. I liked the color blocking options, and I loved that the tee shirt could be all of these things... or just a basic tee, if that's what you need. This is CKC Tierney's! I got this pretty sweater knit from a Knitpop scrap pack a few weeks ago. I already made myself something using it. You can see that here . I had enough of my scrap pieces left to make my sister something too. What is better than trying a new pattern?? Almost nothing. So I used up the rest of my nice sweater fabrics to make my sister a coordinating top! According to her measurements, she fits into a size small. It is perfect on her. I used the color blocked bodice options, and the color blocked the sleeve detail. Her top is the "tunic" length. I've never worn a cold shoulder top before. I see other women wearing them, and they're cute, but not for me, right? I had some misconception that they were really more for the kids and teenagers, and I haven't had a cold shoulder pattern really capture my attention before. I've made one cold shoulder top for my 13 year old cousin previously, but that's it. That was it, until I saw the newest cold shoulder top by CKC Patterns. Meet CKC Jayla's . You want to know what got my attention? The hemline. I completely stepped outside of my comfort zone and tested a cold shoulder top because of the hemline! I loved the hemline for the tunic length! It is long enough to wear with leggings, which I know I will love this fall! I saw a tester call for this pattern while I was on vacation. I was super bummed that I couldn't test it, but was SO excited to see that it was coming. I LOVE this style! I found this fabric at Joann's and fell in love with it. 😍 I knew immediately that this was what I wanted to use it for... Well I FINALLY got around to making my new CKC Kenna's! This Pattern: This pattern is drafted for stretch fabrics. It has a dolman style sleeve (so easy and quick). It is not a fitted top. It has a loose fit, comfortable fit. You have a few options for your sleeves. You can choose to add a ruffle or a cuff to your sleeve, or you can just hem it. If you want the ruffle or cuff, there is a measurement cut chart included in the pattern. There are two options for the front bodice. You can sew Kenna's with the knot in the center front, or you can make it with the knot more to one side. There are actually two separate front bodice pieces included in this patter...

Daniel recently has expressed a love for pockets. In fact, he's made me feel bad that I've made him shorts without them! Ha. He doesn't NEED pockets. He doesn't have a phone or keys yet, so he'll deal, but he wants them to store all of the little treasures little boys find. So, when you find a pattern with pockets, you obviously HAVE to sew it. I immediately knew that he would love them when I saw the tester call for CKC Tucker's . And yes, he does love them! About the Shorts and My Fabric Choices: This is a great little pattern full of options! I have frequently seen posts in Facebook Sewing Groups with people asking for woven shorts with a knit waistband. This one fits the bill. The shorts are drafted to be made with woven fabric. And the waistband should be made with a knit fabric with good recovery. I used a woven quilting cotton from Hobby Lobby for the legs of his shorts, and a cotton lycra from Purple Seamstress for the waistband. These worked per...
