The Annelaine Bubby and Bee

Back around Christmas, Matthew fell in love with Peppa Pig. Luke watched it sometimes too, but Matthew REALLY loved it. So, for one of his gifts, I made him a Peppa tee shirt. Luke was SO jealous. It was pretty cute, and he really wanted it. But then he didn't mention it again, so I thought he was over it. They now BOTH have Peppa "George and Dinosaur" shirts. Luke's is the Bubby and Bee hoodie **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern and fabric I used for this post. If you choose to make a purchase from Annelaine Pattern or KnitFabric.com using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** I was getting ready to make him the Annelaine Bubby and Bee hoodie , and was going through the fabric I had. I asked, "Do you want a Paw Patrol shirt?" He said, "No I want a Peppa shirt with a hood." So I knew that I needed to Applique a Bubby and Bee shirt for Luke. Sewing Luke's Shir...

New Halloween Tees!

I've never loved Halloween. No real reason, just never liked it. Dressing up isn't my thing. I don't care for the scary stuff. Somehow the dressing up and trick-or-treating and all the decorations just doesn't appeal to me. But... OH MY GOODNESS... I have a child who is obsessed. He loves everything Halloween. If it's scary, he likes it. If it's a pumpkin, a ghost, a skeleton, anything that could be Halloween related, he wants it. He's teaching his little brother to appreciate the holiday as well. While I was walking through Hobby Lobby the other day, Luke spotted orange flowers... he yelled about the "Halloween Flowers" until we exited the store. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the fabric used in this post. If you choose to make a purchase from Peek-a-boo using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Even though I don't love Halloween, when Peek-a-boo put their fall pri...

Daniel's Inspiration Hoodie

I saw an ad for a hoodie a little while ago... I kind of liked it for Daniel, so like any normal person would do, I took a screenshot so that I could attempt to recreate it. You know... why buy it for $14 when you can make it for around $10 + 2 hours? 😜 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern and fabric I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission from the sale at no additional cost to you!** So... there we have it! Daniel's color blocked tee! I made this version using the Dill Pickles Tee from Pickle Toes Designs/ Meyraki! Why An Inspired Sew? One thing I love about sewing is making things that are different or unique. I love making things that no one else has. But sometimes, it can be a really fun challenge to find something and see if you can recreate it. It's fun to see how close you can get to the original. It's also kind of fun to say, "I could have bought that.....

The Puperita Swank Tee and Bermuda Shorts/Pants

You may have noticed that I really LOVE Puperita Patterns. I sew them frequently for my boys. Their closet is FULL of Puperita! I love how they fit them, and the patterns are perfect for everyday wear. **Disclosure: This post contains an affiliate link to the fabric used for Daniel's shirt. If you choose to order fabric from Peek-a-boo using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** So... when the newest patterns were ready for testing, I excitedly applied. New Puperita Releases are all a surprise, so even for testers, you don't know exactly what you're testing. But, I am always excited to test or to be surprised with the new release!  So, this is the Puperita Swank Tee and Bermuda Shorts/ Pants patterns. The Tee : The tee is a knit raglan tee with a couple of options - you can make it with short or long sleeves. The tee can also be made with a crew neckline or as a mock turtleneck. I made Daniel two d...

Heading Back to School 2019

Daniel is going back to school in a little over a week. He's READY. I'm not sure that I am though! We've enjoyed the summer but I'm going to miss him! But going back to school called for getting a few new outfits... Daniel helped me with some online fabric shopping so that we could make him what he wanted for school to start! Participating in the Back to School Blog Tour hosted by Paisley Roots ! seemed like the perfect reason to go ahead and get his new outfits made! So I'm sharing two new tee shirts with you today. I actually made him 4 new tee shirts in a week, but two are still in testing, so I don't get to share those just yet! 😉 ** Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns and fabric used, when applicable. If you choose to purchase a pattern or fabric using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Back to School Fabric : I've had this fabric for a while and I've been ...

Ready for the 4th!

I always make the boys something for the holidays! So with the 4th of July coming, I started planning early what I might sew! I planned these shirts from the second I saw the fabric for the first time! 😁 They turned out just like I planned! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns and fabric used in this post. If you choose to purchase using my link, I'll receive a small percentage of the sale!** When Peek-a-boo ran a sale back for Memorial Day, I purchased a few of their fabrics for the boys. I LOVED this one. I'm loving shopping there for them right now, because it can be hard to find cute printed fabrics, and even harder finding prints that my boys like. My 4 year old is super picky, but he has loved everything in her shop! It's hard to limit ourselves to just a few! 😉 When I saw this fabric , I immediately thought I might do something color blocked. I like color-blocking with prints for a few reasons. It is a different style than just ...
