Swim at Amelia Lane Designs!

You may have picked up on this before... but I'm loving Amelia Lane Designs, y'all. It's probably my favorite online place to get fabric. I have not been disappointed with the quality, the customer service, or the shipping speed! I may say it every time... but you get the idea! 😉 **Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to the patterns I used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my links, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Well... things just got really exciting, because this awesome little company just started carrying SWIM SOLIDS! And not just any ol' swim solids... these fabrics have UV Protection!!! WHAT? 🎉 That may not be quite as exciting to everybody, but it's pretty exciting to me, because we have a beach trip coming up! So.... new vacation stuff! I've planned to try making an actual  bathing suit... but I haven't yet. I really still want to, because it'll be a challenge for m

La Bella Donna by Love Notions

The La Bella Donna top was on a Featured Friday sale a few weeks back. It's REALLY hard to pass up a Featured Friday at Love Notions... a regularly priced $10 pattern on sale for $5... and they're really nice patterns too! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to these patterns throughout this post. If you choose to purchase using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale.** I tried a Love Notions Pattern for the first time this year, and was so impressed. I finally knew why everyone seems to love them so much! Information about the Pattern : You have quite a few options for sewing this pattern! It can be made in a tunic length or a dress length. There is a curved hem or hem band. The neckline can be turned in and hemmed, made with an included hood, or have a cowl neckline. For the dress length, there are even optional pockets. It really does have lots of options. You can make it differently many times! The pattern is drafted

The Rocky Tee by 5 out of 4 Patterns

It feels so weird, but I've started using Men's Patterns for my nephew! 😏 How is he big enough?? Some companies include a size 2XS in their men's size chart, and he is actually fitting in that size pretty well now. So it just makes sense when getting a pattern, to get one that he's not going to grow out of! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns mentioned in this post. If you chose to purchase using my link, I will receive a small commission from the sale at no cost to you.** So, when Amelia Lane Designs announced they were releasing this fabulous Striped Jersey, I immediately thought of him. I knew I had to make something for him with it. This came right after the release of the Rocky Tee by 5 out of 4 Patterns , and at the same time as a sitewide sale at 5 out of 4... so, it was meant to be. Right? Check out that Stripe Matching 😍 So Let's Talk About the Pattern: First... How about the amazing size range? 🎉If you wear a siz

The Pickle Toes 10K Tank

At first I wasn't sure how much I would wear it. The pattern looked a little sportier than what I typically choose. But the color-blocking looked fun, so I made it anyway! And, I'm really glad I did, because I really actually love how it turned out! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link for this pattern in this blog post. If you choose to click on/purchase from my link, I'll receive a small commission from the sale** This was my first Pickle Toes 10K tank , but it for sure will not be my last! The Pattern: This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. You will need something with good, 4 way stretch. It is a fitted tank, but is very flattering. There are seven length options included (top, tunic, mini, above the knee, below the knee, tea length, maxi length), and two options for the back (regular tank ro racer back). There is a fun color blocking detail on the front and back. I used two fabrics for mine, but you could also use three if you wanted. My To

The Adriana Skirt by Athina Kakou

I love wearing skirts. I love that, provided that the fabric is right, you can wear the same skirt all year round, pairing it with different tops to get different looks. I've come to love the two pieces of a skirt and a blouse, especially since my kids were born, because nursing is just simpler. So, let me tell you about my latest skirt sew - the Adriana by Athina Kakou ! I was drawn to this beauty by Athina Kako u. I mentioned on my blog post for the Suzy Dress that this was my first time trying this pattern designer for these tests, and I was beyond impressed. I blindly agreed to test two of the three new patterns she is releasing. I'm so glad they fit well and that I liked them! Once I saw the drawings and photos, I just couldn't pass up making them! I mentioned on my other post (for the Suzy Dress), that so many of her styles could be considered "classic" or "timeless," and like the Suzy Dress, the Adriana skirt is no exception. This skir

The Priscilla Top by Mamma Can Do It

I like wearing leggings some days. And when I wear leggings, I need to wear either a dress or a long, tunic length top. It's the most comfortable outfit. I don't have too many tunic length tops for the summer time though, and I jumped at the opportunity to test the new Priscilla Top by Mamma Can Do It! **Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to the patterns I used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my affiliate link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you. ** I made two Priscilla Tops during testing. I really love both! Let's Talk About This Pattern : This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. There is one length included (this long, tunic length). It has a handkerchief style hemline. It is really beautiful and unique! I haven't seen to many other top patterns around lately with this hemline! There are two options for the neckline (and arm holes for the tank version). You can either use regular bands,

The Love Notions Driftwood Polo

I made this shirt for my nephew a little while ago, but we just got around to getting pictures. I love seeing him wear it! In fact, I love seeing him wear anything I have spent time making. He really likes it, which makes me so happy. He loves getting handmade things. He lets you know that he loves them and appreciates them, because he wears them a lot! **Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to the patterns used. If you choose to use and purchase from an affiliate link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you!** I got this pattern back around Christmas I think, and then it took me a little bit to actually get to sewing it. My sister bought this red and white striped cotton lycra for me to use to make something for him back in the fall, and then she became worried that he would look like Waldo of "Where's Waldo." 🤣 So I put off sewing the fabric, because I didn't want to make a Waldo shirt. But finally, I found the co

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect f
