Sew Yourself Some Love with Winter Wear Designs

Suzanne of Winter Wear Designs is hosting a blog tour this week - the "Sew Yourself Some Love" tour. All of the participants of the tour sewed something for themselves this week.  I decided to sew something for myself, and something for someone I love as well - my sister.  **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. Around the time I started sewing more for myself, I also started this blog. Shortly after starting my blog, I found myself fortunate enough to be added to Suzanne's blogging group, and I've really loved it!  For this blog tour, I wanted to make something I knew I was going to love. Y'all, I sew A LOT. But recently I've realized that I don't have THAT MANY knit t...

Sewing with Pointelle

A little more than a year ago, one afternoon I drove my granddaddy somewhere. When I got him back home, he gave me twenty-five dollars and told me to buy some fabric to make my sister and me something. He told me that he'd like us to have something in lilac. So, of course, I went home, ordered some lilac DBP and ordered it. We both have tops. Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs got this lavender pointelle, I kind of fell in love with the color. When it arrived, I realized it was almost the exact same color as our lilac tops that we already have. But that's okay? You can't really have too much of a good thing, right? I knew from the second I saw the fabric what I was going to make with it. And, I knew I was going to make two - so my sister and me could match! **Disclosure: I have used my affiliate link for the pattern I used for this post. The Annelaine Nashville

Last year, I saw this fabric, and fell in love. I bought it and have had it folded on a shelf for close to a year.  Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs stocked this one, I got so excited because it was JUST like my beautiful hoarded gold/brown medallion fabric, but had more blue/grey tones. I loved it just as much. I made a dress from it. See that dress here. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** Then, this week, when Annelaine announced that their Nashville Dress was discounted for the week, I decided to take the opportunity to sew one. I looked at my fabric stash and eventually chose to cut into this one. The Fabric: The fabric is a double brushed poly (DBP) fabric I got from Amelia Lane Designs . It is so soft, and perfect for making tops and dresses. This fabric is no longer available, but...
