A couple of weeks ago, my 14 year old cousin was getting ready to start her ninth grade school year. She had a denim skirt that she really wanted to wear to school, and had me measure it to see if it met the "No more than 4" above the knee" requirement. Well it didn't. It looked completely appropriate to me, but just wasn't long enough. So you know, my seamstress brain got to working, and I got to thinking, "I could totally make her a new denim skirt." But a regular denim skirt has so many pieces, and is a bit of a commitment to make.
