I'm so excited to share my newest Winter Wear Designs make! I always enjoy making Suzanne's patterns. They are really classic styles, they're easy to put together, and her instructions are great. I find myself using many of them multiple times... like the top I'm sharing today! 😉
This sew was a part of the "Summer Staples" Blog Tour! I'll tell you all about the new top I made and what I'm paring it with!

This is my newest TIDEWATER TEE!
The name of the blog tour this time was "Summer Staples." This pattern immediately came to my mind when I saw the word "Staple." This pattern is just that for me -- a staple! I've used it a few times to get different looks, and I've loved it every single time. I made my first one last summer for another blog tour. Then, I paired it with the Endless Summer Shorts (which I'm still really enjoying, by the way). I made one shortly before Christmas with the fabulous sleeve add on, and another in the winter using a Hacci fabric, also using a different sleeve add on. But it's been a bit, so I figured it's time for another. The blog tour was the perfect excuse to pull this pattern back out!
My Fabric:
For my newest Tidewater Tee, I used a DBP fabric. I bought this fabric a couple of months ago from Amelia Lane Designs. I actually had this pattern in mind when I bought it! I love this two-tone fabric SO much! It's really super soft. This is the two-tone blue.
Adjustments/ Changes to the Pattern:
As usual with Winter Wear Designs Patterns, I used a broad shoulder adjustment to get a better fit. My shoulders are a bit broad, and with some designers, I need to adjust the pattern!
The only other change I made when sewing the tee this time was the neckline. The neckline is generally finished with a band, which I love. Bands are pretty quick and easy, however this time I chose to turn the neckline under about 1/2" and hem it in place. I kind of like the look. What do you think?
Sewing The Top:
If you've followed for long, you might know that I love sewing knits because of how easily and quickly they go together. This pattern is no exception! It has some details that make it take a tiny bit longer to sew, but they are still very easy, and definitely worth it!
The back cut-out and yoke are my favorite thing about this pattern... they make it look so much fancier than just a plain ole tee shirt!
Also, with all the topstitching, I had a really great opportunity to put my newest machine addition to use! 😉 My family got me a new Coverstitch Machine for my birthday a few weeks ago, and y'all, I LOVE it! I never thought I'd have so much fun changing threads and topstitching ALL THE THINGS.
The Skirt:
The skirt is not new, but that should show you what a "staple" this pattern is! It even has it in its name! 😉 It's the Staple Skirt! You've may have seen where I've shared this pattern before here:

I love this skirt and wear it pretty frequently! It looks complicated, but it's really not. If you've been wanting to try out a zip fly, why not start with this skirt? It has great instructions, and is the perfect pattern to "get your feet wet."
