Summer Staples with Winter Wear Designs

I'm so excited to share my newest Winter Wear Designs make! I always enjoy making Suzanne's patterns. They are really classic styles, they're easy to put together, and her instructions are great. I find myself using many of them multiple times... like the top I'm sharing today! 😉 This sew was a part of the "Summer Staples" Blog Tour! I'll tell you all about the new top I made and what I'm paring it with!  **Disclosure: This post contains my affiliate link to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** This is my newest TIDEWATER TEE !  The name of the blog tour this time was "Summer Staples." This pattern immediately came to my mind when I saw the word "Staple." This pattern is just that for me -- a staple! I've used it a few times to get different looks, and I've loved it every single time. I made my first one last summer for

The Petite Stitchery Solis

I made a bathing suit! 👙 An actual bathing suit. I still kind of cannot believe I did it. I also can't believe I made a two piece. I don't think I've actually worn a two piece like this since I was in high school maybe. Will I find the courage to actually wear it to the beach or pool? Still to be decided. 🤣 But I'm super proud of the actual sewing! I've wanted to do a few projects this year to "push" my skill set and learn new things. One of the things I'd like to tackle is a quilt... the other thing I wanted to try was swim. **Disclosure: This post contains my affiliate link to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** I found some courage to try sewing swim a few weeks ago when I made a rashguard and swim skirt. You can read all about it here . But as practical as it is, and as much as I'll wear it, I still had not tried an actual bathing suit - you know,

The Kids Raglan by Ellie and Mac

I think Daniel picked this fabric out last year. I made him a tee shirt with it before, but he's outgrown it now. I had a little bit left, folded on a shelf. Luke brought it to me one day recently and said, "This" and then pointed at his shirt. I think that was his way of requesting a monster truck shirt maybe? But, I've had several other sewing projects going on and had not gotten to this one yet, until this past weekend! **Disclosure: This post contains my affiliate links to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you!** I decided that the Ellie and Mac Wacky Wednesday was the PERFECT excuse to make him a new raglan tee from this monster truck fabric that he loves so much. And, now I'm trying to figure out why I waited so long... because a raglan is FAST to sew... like seriously fast. And, I know this because I've made raglan tees before! Let's Talk a Bi

The Jessica by Sinclair Patterns

Sinclair has been another of my favorite designers since I tried my first one! I've loved the fit, how easily they go together, the fact that the pattern pieces are perfectly marked, and that the instructions are really phenomenal. They have all gone together easily, and become staples in my wardrobe. **Disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to the patterns used. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission from the sale at no additional cost to you!** I've had the Jessica pattern for a while, and have been intending to try it for months, but have been putting it off for no real reason at all. I just never made time to sew it. And I don't know why, because all I needed was about an hour or two. 🤷 When I got this Liverpool fabric from Amelia Lane Designs , I knew it needed to be something beautiful! I played around with different ideas, and actually printed a different pattern first, but then remembered this one.

The Harmony by Wardrobe by Me

Wardrobe my Me is one of my favorite pattern companies to test for. I always love the result, and the style of the patterns is really what draws me in. They are really beautiful and always end up being favorites for me. The new release is no different from the others... they're already on repeat in my wardrobe! 😍 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** This is the new Harmony Blouse !  This pattern has three neckline options and two hem lengths. There are also several sleeve lengths available for this.  I sewed two of the neckline options during testing. View A has a cute woven detail that ties in the front. View B has a woven detail with little pleats, and a placket that buttons in the front. View C is made with knit fabric, but has a woven bias tape to finish the neckline. This pattern is drafted for knit fabrics, with t

Puperita Peppy and Perky - Summer Staples!

Puperita is releasing FOUR new patterns today! 🎉 I love Puperita! My boys' closet is filled up with Puperita patterns! They have rompers, shorts, tee shirts, button downs, vests, dressy church clothes from their Puperita Patterns. I never hesitate to try a new pattern, and am always happy with the outcome. I also really enjoy testing for Annalisa. She is generally very organized, and I am always happy enough with the fit of even the first version, so I never feel like there is a waste of fabric. So... as usual, she announced that she needed testers for some new patterns. But the patterns were a surprise. I jumped at the opportunity to test, because I really needed motivation to kickstart the boys' summer wardrobe. I decided to test for Luke. I was super happy when I finally saw the patterns to test! 💙 The Perky Top :  This is the only one of the four patterns that I did not sew. It is intended for girls. It is drafted for woven fabric, and is similar to the one I did t
