The Annelaine Nashville

Last year, I saw this fabric, and fell in love. I bought it and have had it folded on a shelf for close to a year.  Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs stocked this one, I got so excited because it was JUST like my beautiful hoarded gold/brown medallion fabric, but had more blue/grey tones. I loved it just as much. I made a dress from it. See that dress here. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** Then, this week, when Annelaine announced that their Nashville Dress was discounted for the week, I decided to take the opportunity to sew one. I looked at my fabric stash and eventually chose to cut into this one. The Fabric: The fabric is a double brushed poly (DBP) fabric I got from Amelia Lane Designs . It is so soft, and perfect for making tops and dresses. This fabric is no longer available, but...

The Ellie and Mac Monday Morning Dress

When this pattern released, part of me wanted to try it, but I didn't, because I have another pattern that is kind of similar.  However, when you want to do something, you can't stop thinking about it until you do try it, right?  So when, Ellie and Mac announced the Summer Dress Event , I HAD to, right?  **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns used in this post. I'm going to guess that it's because it's so cute that it can make your Monday Morning feel brighter! 😉 Or maybe you'll love it so much that you're excited to get out of bed, even on a Monday, to put it on! Who knows?! But regardless of why  it's named the Monday Morning Dress, it's a super quick sew, it...

A Staple in Your Closet -- The MCDI Ladies Full Skirt Dress

This week, Mamma Can Do It is running the last week of the " Winter Tour ."  Her "Winter Tour" was a group of patterns she was promoting and selling at half price for one week. This week, part of the tour included this beautiful Ladies Full Skirt Dress . I really liked the look of the dress on the website, but was pretty reluctant to make one for myself because I'm still nursing my baby, and plan to for a while longer. And dresses are not the most practical thing while breastfeeding! So, I decided to come up with a nursing hack, and I shared it on the MCDI blog. You can find my hack here . 😉 This yellow dress contains my nursing hack! Check out the MCDI blog post for the button placket tutorial! But, let me tell you why I like this dress ... It's certain to be a staple for you! I have two now, one that I won't get a lot of wear out of for a little while, because I made it before I made my nursing hack, and a second that I will probably wear ALL ...
