My Rosanna Swim Dress

I've been eying this pattern for a while. Like maybe since it released? I've always loved swim dresses. I've had a few through the years, but I've had trouble finding them. So this pattern stood out to me. I love them because I still felt feminine, but covered, especially for the beach, or public pools. ** Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to patterns used in this post. I always get a little nervous to possibly waste fabric. But, I guess that's a risk you have to take every now and again. 😉 I made the swim dress. It's not perfect, and I now know of a few minor adjustments I'll make next time, but this one is totally wearable, and I really love it!  This is my Rosanna Swim Dress ! All About This ...

Sewing the Rocket Raglan by 5 out of 4

I have been curious about this pattern for a bit. You know... I already have like 5 kids raglan patterns, but I just WANTED to know about THIS one. You know... I feel like I need to try all the patterns. After I tried and loved the first 5 out of 4 Pattern, it is only logical that I try the rest, right? **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to this pattern in this post. If you choose to purchase a 5 out of 4 pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** So... here is the Rocket Raglan . So finally, I got ready to sew this one . I originally thought I might sew it for one of my boys, but my sister is my photographer, and with this social distancing thing, I thought it might be easier to get photos of my nephew. So I decided to get him a shirt ready for them to pick up! Choosing the Fabrics: This time, since I was making the shirt for Matthew, I decided to let Matthew pick the fabric. I took pictures of s...

Scotty's Favorite Shirt

Scotty always makes me so happy - he's wearing his Laura-made clothes every chance he gets. And, he's always happy to receive another shirt (whatever I choose to make). Sometimes he picks fabric, and sometimes I get to surprise him. He's generally easy to please. Sewing for him is SO fun because I know I'll get to see him wearing whatever I make again and again. It seriously makes my heart happy. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.** We have a few patterns that we've tried that we've liked a whole lot, and one that we've absolutely loved, and have used several times... that one was the 5 out of 4 Rocky Tee . I've shared about it before, but now that I've just made him his 6th or 7th Rocky , I decided that it was time to share about it again, and maybe show some of the fabulous long...

The 5 out of 4 Weekender

I remember seeing the Weekender Tunic when it released. I remember liking it on everyone, but I didn't get the pattern. I have one of those never-ending, always-growing list of sewing projects that I'll get to one day. Then I buy fabric with different sewing projects in mind... are you like me? 😉 Well I finally sewed up the Weekender Tunic this week, and.... um.... Why on Earth did I wait so long?? Y'all this pattern is awesome! It's my new favorite sweater!! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern from 5 out of 4 using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** Have you ever had this happen to you? You put off making something, and then you wonder how you've lived without it? Don't get me wrong, I love most of the things I make... but every now and then, I'll try a finished project on, and I get REALLY excited. ...

The 5 out of 4 Easy Tee

Do you have any idea how many  tee shirt patterns there are out there for ladies? WOW! There are a ton. You can find super fitted tees, semi fitted tees, relaxed fit tees. There are tees with different length options, different neckline options, included hoods and cowl necks. There are all kinds of different tee patterns available. Then you'll find similar patterns from different designers, but although they're almost the same, the fit will be different. You'll find that some designers fit your body with few adjustments and others may need a lot of work to fit you well. Some designers you may land all in one size, while others you have to blend two or three sizes to get your best fit. I say all this just because there is a really good reason to own more than one tee pattern. And obviously, I believe there's a good reason to try them all! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a 5oo4 Pattern using ...

The Gloria Peplum by 5 out of 4 Patterns

So, my mama discovered ITY fabric this summer, and y'all, I think it might be her favorite thing ever. It's so breezy and cool to wear. I kind of love it too!  Back a couple of months ago, we bought two solids to make her something with. But I had a case of "Sewing Distraction" and never did. I mean, I've made her a couple of other things since we got the solids, but not the solid fabric. So, I recently pulled it out trying to decide what to make with it.  She has always been a little picky about what she wears, so I've been nervous to make her something - what if it doesn't fit the way she likes it? What if it's not her ? Well I'm happy to report that sewing something to your exact measurements is WAY  less stressful than going shopping in a department store. Sometimes our bodies require different sizes in different places. Sometimes we need to adjust for height. Sometimes we need other random adjustments to get our perfect fit. So, obviou...
