A little more than a year ago, one afternoon I drove my granddaddy somewhere. When I got him back home, he gave me twenty-five dollars and told me to buy some fabric to make my sister and me something. He told me that he'd like us to have something in lilac. So, of course, I went home, ordered some lilac DBP and ordered it. We both have tops. Recently, when Amelia Lane Designs got this lavender pointelle, I kind of fell in love with the color. When it arrived, I realized it was almost the exact same color as our lilac tops that we already have. But that's okay? You can't really have too much of a good thing, right? I missed out on the tester call for the first version of this sweater , and I was a bit sad while I watched all of the testers turn theirs in. So... when there was a version 2, I jumped on it! 😉 This is a new sweater by CKC patterns - it's called " Serenity ." It is an easy pattern that goes together very quickly! The Pattern: The pattern is for a cute almost-off-the-shoulder sweater. It has a slightly relaxed fit, really cute balloon sleeves, and a kangaroo pocket. The top pattern goes together kind of like a raglan tee, but it's a much wider neckline. I'd say it's somewhere between a wide boatneck and off the shoulder. It is SO quick, because NO HEMMING! It's my day on the Winter Wear Designs Outerwear Blog tour! I'm so excited to share my new Twin Peaks Cardigan with you!! I never feel like I have enough cardigans... I honestly haven't purchased one in YEARS! And... I have now made myself two for this fall, and of the two... this is my favorite! I thought the blog tour was NEXT WEEK, so I was last minute sewing my cardigan up! I was excited to make it, but it was pushed to the back burner while I finished up Halloween Costumes and other fall clothes for the kiddos. But I took a much -needed break from the kids' sewing to make this for myself!  I have figured out exactly what adjustments I need for my  body when using Winter Wear Designs patterns, which makes me SO HAPPY, because it makes the process of trying a new pattern so easy and so fun! When I saw this pattern tester call, I REALLY liked the top. I loved the detail on the sleeves. I liked the optional elbow patches. I liked the color blocking options, and I loved that the tee shirt could be all of these things... or just a basic tee, if that's what you need. This is CKC Tierney's! I got this pretty sweater knit from a Knitpop scrap pack a few weeks ago. I already made myself something using it. You can see that here . I had enough of my scrap pieces left to make my sister something too. What is better than trying a new pattern?? Almost nothing. So I used up the rest of my nice sweater fabrics to make my sister a coordinating top! According to her measurements, she fits into a size small. It is perfect on her. I used the color blocked bodice options, and the color blocked the sleeve detail. Her top is the "tunic" length. I've never owned a cowl neck top. Until this week, I had never made one, and I'm pretty sure I've never bought one. I'm beginning to learn that my previous wardrobe might have been slightly dull. 🤣 Mostly basic tees and church dresses! But, I'm stepping out and trying new things! So for this month's Winter Wear Designs Blog Tour, the theme was "Hack-a-Thon." I would need to "hack" a Winter Wear Designs pattern to make my vision a reality! I visited Pinterest and Google Images for inspiration. I felt like I wanted to do something with a cowl neck, but what would I do? My Inspiration: I searched Pinterest and Google Images for ideas.
