The Tank Dress 3-ways by Pattern Emporium

It's been a while since I posted. I've been sewing, helping my kindergartener with virtual school, and living, which just hasn't left me with a lot of time for blogging! Life happens!  But... I've kind of missed writing, and I decided that now was the perfect time to make a new post. I had the opportunity to sew a pattern I really liked, and I got excited enough to find the motivation to write about it! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern from Pattern Emporium using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The pattern I tested is from Pattern Emporium. I love their patterns for a few reasons. I've posted before that I have kind of broad shoulders and on with some designers I have to adjust patterns to fit them. There are a couple of designers that seem to fit me well with no adjustments to the pattern pieces and this is one of them. I...

The Wardrobe by Me Asta Dress

Sometimes you find a pattern that you'll pull out again and again. That is the case with this pattern. I love wearing dresses. I feel so pretty and feminine. Putting on a dress can put me in a better mood sometimes. So I was more than excited to test the expansion of the Asta Dress. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern from Wardrobe by Me using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** I've sewn this pattern a couple of times before. Once I made the sleeveless version and another time, I made a sleeved version. I've worn both of them several times.  So I already knew I liked the pattern, and was thrilled to try some of the new options!  Here is my new Wardrobe by Me Asta Dress . The pattern: The pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. It makes a beautiful dress with a few options you can choose from. You can make your dress sleeveless, or chose rom...

The Pattern Emporium Trapeze Trio

So back a couple of years ago, Pattern Emporium released the Trapeze Trio for free for a limited time. I put off downloading it for too long, and I missed the offer. But it has always looked like such a nice pattern, so... during their sitewide sale a few weeks back, I decided to go ahead and grab it. I know, I know... I probably have something else similar, but I'm always curious about a new pattern. I love trying new things. I think it keeps me from getting bored. I have some patterns I repeat again and again, but I never lose the desire to try something new and different, whether it's a new pattern, a new-to-me designer, or a new fabric type, I love new things when it comes to sewing. **Disclosure: I have include my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern Emporium Pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you** I recently tested for the first time for Pattern Emporiu...

The Seamwork Neenah

I've been kind of looking at this pattern for a while. I have resisted making it, however, because I never liked turtlenecks. The thought of a turtleneck took me back to those turtlenecks I hated so much when I was a little girl. I didn't really like things touching my neck, and some of them were just too tight. **Disclosure: I have included my referral link to SEAMWORK in this post. If you choose to subscribe to Seamwork using my referral link, you'll receive a discount on your first month, and I'll receive credits towards my membership** And I probably would have continued resisting this pattern , had I not gotten my hands on this beautiful ribbing. And ALL I could think about was how this beautiful ribbing would be so pretty sewn up with this pattern .  I was going to have to get over myself and try a turtleneck. And I'm kind of glad I did. This Fabric: This beautiful ribbing is one of the new fabrics stocking this week at Amelia Lane Des...

The Amelia Lane Designs Dream Tee

If you're like me, you enjoy trying something new. And it's not often that you get to sew a pattern and fabric from the SAME company! 😉 Amelia Lane Designs recently released their first pattern - the Dream Tee, and I had the opportunity to sew it in new ALD fabric - this beautiful Two-Tone Mustard. I really love the result!!  As I mentioned, this is the first pattern released by Amelia Lane Designs. I'm amazed at how much they've grown in the almost- year that they've been in business. From supplying lots of beautiful fabrics to becoming quite the resource for information on patterns, hacks, adjustments, and more on their blog, to now releasing a pattern, WOW!  The Pattern : This is called the Dream Tee . It was sparked by an idea that Mya has had in her head for a while, and she worked SO hard to pull this off! It is really a nice pattern for so many reasons!  It is a dolman style top or dress . You have the option for adding in 3/4 or long ...

The 5 out of 4 Easy Tee

Do you have any idea how many  tee shirt patterns there are out there for ladies? WOW! There are a ton. You can find super fitted tees, semi fitted tees, relaxed fit tees. There are tees with different length options, different neckline options, included hoods and cowl necks. There are all kinds of different tee patterns available. Then you'll find similar patterns from different designers, but although they're almost the same, the fit will be different. You'll find that some designers fit your body with few adjustments and others may need a lot of work to fit you well. Some designers you may land all in one size, while others you have to blend two or three sizes to get your best fit. I say all this just because there is a really good reason to own more than one tee pattern. And obviously, I believe there's a good reason to try them all! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a 5oo4 Pattern using ...

The Gloria Peplum by 5 out of 4 Patterns

So, my mama discovered ITY fabric this summer, and y'all, I think it might be her favorite thing ever. It's so breezy and cool to wear. I kind of love it too!  Back a couple of months ago, we bought two solids to make her something with. But I had a case of "Sewing Distraction" and never did. I mean, I've made her a couple of other things since we got the solids, but not the solid fabric. So, I recently pulled it out trying to decide what to make with it.  She has always been a little picky about what she wears, so I've been nervous to make her something - what if it doesn't fit the way she likes it? What if it's not her ? Well I'm happy to report that sewing something to your exact measurements is WAY  less stressful than going shopping in a department store. Sometimes our bodies require different sizes in different places. Sometimes we need to adjust for height. Sometimes we need other random adjustments to get our perfect fit. So, obviou...

The Ellie and Mac Monday Morning Dress

When this pattern released, part of me wanted to try it, but I didn't, because I have another pattern that is kind of similar.  However, when you want to do something, you can't stop thinking about it until you do try it, right?  So when, Ellie and Mac announced the Summer Dress Event , I HAD to, right?  **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission at no additional cost to you** This is the Monday Morning Dress ! I've seen so much speculation about why this might be called the Monday Morning Dress... I'm going to guess that it's because it's so cute that it can make your Monday Morning feel brighter! 😉 Or maybe you'll love it so much that you're excited to get out of bed, even on a Monday, to put it on! Who knows?! But regardless of why  it's named the Monday Morning Dress, it's a super quick sew, it...
