Puperita Peppy and Perky - Summer Staples!

Puperita is releasing FOUR new patterns today! 🎉 I love Puperita! My boys' closet is filled up with Puperita patterns! They have rompers, shorts, tee shirts, button downs, vests, dressy church clothes from their Puperita Patterns. I never hesitate to try a new pattern, and am always happy with the outcome. I also really enjoy testing for Annalisa. She is generally very organized, and I am always happy enough with the fit of even the first version, so I never feel like there is a waste of fabric.

So... as usual, she announced that she needed testers for some new patterns. But the patterns were a surprise. I jumped at the opportunity to test, because I really needed motivation to kickstart the boys' summer wardrobe. I decided to test for Luke. I was super happy when I finally saw the patterns to test! 💙
The Perky Top

This is the only one of the four patterns that I did not sew. It is intended for girls. It is drafted for woven fabric, and is similar to the one I did test, but has side panels and a cute handkerchief style hemline. It has a loose fit at the waist, and is really adorable!

The Perky Shorts:

These are gender neutral shorts that are designed to go with both the Perky Top for girls and the gender neutral Peppy Top. The shorts are a super quick sew. The pattern does not have a side seam. It has an elastic waist and hemmed legs. I bet you could make a pair of these in 20 minutes! Seriously QUICK! The shorts can be made in knit fabric or woven fabric. I used woven.

The Peppy Top:

This is the gender neutral top that I did test. This top pattern is drafted for woven fabrics. I really love the top. I think that, depending on the fabric, it could be a great everyday play outfit or a fabulous outfit for church! In fact, we have already used Luke's for both! 😉 The top snaps at the shoulders, and fits comfortably. It has adorable little pockets on the front. The top/neckline is faced, for a very easy, quick finish.

The Peppy Shorts:

These shorts are so cute and comfortable. They are perfect for playing in, and for dressing cute! They have a slight harem style. These can be made in knit fabric or a super lightweight, drapey woven, such as gauze fabrics. I love the fit of them in knit fabric. I used cotton lycra for Luke's!
Luke's Sets:

The first I made is a very lightweight gingham fabric. Matthew and Daniel both already have outfits made from this fabric. We did not take photos in this one, however. It was my test to ensure that the fit was good. Because it is so lightweight, you can see the facing/lining through the top, but that's okay with me. I think it's a perfect summer outfit for a little guy! For this I used the Perky Shorts Pattern.

The second I made was a light blue cotton fabric I found at Hobby Lobby. I LOVED this fabric when I found it. When I saw it, I immediately knew that the boys needed something from this fabric for beach photos! I already made Daniel some Seven Seas shorts and an applique top, so Luke and Matthew need this set for their pictures! I also used the Perky Shorts for this outfit.

This little set is so sweet! 💗

The final outfits I made for Luke was from this really adorable firefighter fabric I found at Joann's Fabrics! It was so cute, and I've had it for a bit trying to decide what to make for them! When I saw this pattern for the first time, I KNEW that it had to be this! I love the outcome. I used the Peppy Shorts for this outfit! Isn't it cute?

Big Brother needed some Matching SEVEN SEAS SHORTS!

So... Go Check Out The Patterns!! 💙💙

It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.  Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for slee

The Tank Dress 3-ways by Pattern Emporium

It's been a while since I posted. I've been sewing, helping my kindergartener with virtual school, and living, which just hasn't left me with a lot of time for blogging! Life happens!  But... I've kind of missed writing, and I decided that now was the perfect time to make a new post. I had the opportunity to sew a pattern I really liked, and I got excited enough to find the motivation to write about it! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern from Pattern Emporium using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The pattern I tested is from Pattern Emporium. I love their patterns for a few reasons. I've posted before that I have kind of broad shoulders and on with some designers I have to adjust patterns to fit them. There are a couple of designers that seem to fit me well with no adjustments to the pattern pieces and this is one of them. I

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I decided to
