A Double Release from Pattern Emporium

I get so excited about new patterns. 😊 One of my favorite designers is releasing TWO new patterns together this month, and I'm thrilled to share about them!

**Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.**

The first new release- the BESTIES TEE

This tee is so fun, with quite a few options! You can choose whether you like the flared tee or the banded tee. The flared tee features a slightly flared silhouette with three length options (cropped, regular, or long).

The banded option also has a slightly flared silhouette gathered into a waistband. It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.

Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for sleeveless (a wide sleeveless or a cutaway sleeveless).

The pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. Both of my tops went together very easily and quickly. The banded version took slightly longer, just because of gathering the fabric into the waistband.

My favorite of the two is the banded version. My hip measurement is between the 10 and 12, and for the flared version, I sewed the size 10. I ended up choosing to size up 1 in the hips when I made the banded version. I really like it. When I make the flared version again, I'll also use the size 12 I think.  I love the banded version because I don't have much in this style already. It is different from most of the tops hanging in my closet. I think it looks great with skinny jeans, but would also look amazing with a pencil skirt or dress slacks.

The Yours Truly Flounce Tank

The second top that is releasing is this great flounce tank!

It also has a flared silhouette, but has a flounce hemline. It is like a circle skirt  - no gathers! It has three lengths - cropped, hip length, or long length. It has two neckline options OR a hood! There are two sleeveless options - the wide sleeveless or the cutaway halter style sleeveless.

It is also designed for knit fabrics, and was a very quick sew as well!

I used Double Brushed poly fabric for this tank as well.

Fabric:

As I mentioned, two of my tops were made using double brushed poly fabric. I cannot remember where the floral came from! The solid DBP I used for the tank came from Amelia Lane Designs

The rayon spandex print I used for the banded tee was also from Amelia Lane Designs

I am always able to get a great selection for fabrics from them! They have good prices, stock a very nice variety, and are very speedy in filling orders! πŸ˜ƒ

The Wardrobe by Me Asta Dress

Sometimes you find a pattern that you'll pull out again and again. That is the case with this pattern. I love wearing dresses. I feel so pretty and feminine. Putting on a dress can put me in a better mood sometimes. So I was more than excited to test the expansion of the Asta Dress. **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern I used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern from Wardrobe by Me using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** I've sewn this pattern a couple of times before. Once I made the sleeveless version and another time, I made a sleeved version. I've worn both of them several times.  So I already knew I liked the pattern, and was thrilled to try some of the new options!  Here is my new Wardrobe by Me Asta Dress . The pattern: The pattern is drafted for knit fabrics. It makes a beautiful dress with a few options you can choose from. You can make your dress sleeveless, or chose rom

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (GwenπŸ˜‰), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect f

My 2018 Sinclair Round Up!

So, as you may have seen, Sinclair Patterns is running a sale this week! It's the last week of the year, and she has marked everything in her shop 25% off for a boxing day/ End of Year Sale! So generous! I started sewing more for myself in 2018, and discovered a couple of pattern designers that I love using for my clothes... Sinclair is one of them! I've mentioned before that I get a really great fit from her patterns. Every Sinclair pattern I have tried has been on regular rotation. They're all so perfect, and fit my body type wonderfully. So since she is having a sale, I started looking back at photos so that I could share the sale in Facebook Sewing Groups. I noticed how many Sinclair Patterns I've made, so I thought it would be fun to do a 2018 Sinclair Pattern round up to see all of my Sinclair sews in one place! πŸ™‚ So... Here we go! The Betty The Betty was the very first Sinclair pattern I tried, and that's when I fell in LOVE with Sinclair! I actua
