The Wardrobe by Me Mirri Wrap Dress

I know... I know... another Wrap Dress? But this one is different. I PROMISE!

You've probably noticed I have a "thing" for wrap dresses. I've blogged on quite a few, and there are quite a few others hanging in my closet that I have not talked about yet. But... like I said, this one is different.

I'm going to go ahead and put the Mirri Dress up at the top of my favorite wrap or faux wrap dress patterns. The biggest reason... I love the fit!

I had the opportunity to test the Mirri Dress by Wardrobe By Me Patterns. The dress was getting an update to extend the sizing range - YAY! So, it was put through re-testing, and it is AWESOME! This was my first (and second) time sewing the Mirri, although it has been around for a while!

Let's talk about the pattern:

The Mirri Dress Pattern now includes U.S. Sizes 0-24. The dress is fitted at the bust, waist, and hips, and the skirt flares a bit at the hem. The bodice has pleats at the waist, which give the top nice shape. The neckline is high enough to be modest, but still very stylish. The neck is finished with a shawl-style collar, which is very unique, and beautiful. There is one sleeve length (it's more of an extended shoulder). The sleeve piece is built into the bodice and finished with bands. There are four skirt lengths. You can choose between peplum length, around knee length, just below mid calf length, or maxi length. The bodice of the dress hits just above the natural waist, although the pattern has information on lengthening the bodice, if you prefer. The dress goes together surprisingly quickly, and could be perfect for many occasions!

My Dress

For all of my dresses, I sewed View B, which hits just above my knees. I think this length dress is so flattering, however I am anxious to try out some of the other options/ views for this pattern.

I used Double Brushed Poly fabric for all of my dresses. I really love the crossover neckline, because I think it is so flattering on everyone. Also, it is really nice for nursing mamas!

While this is another wrap dress, it has such a different style and shape than any other wrap dresses I own (or have seen available) that I think the Mirri is worth adding to your collection!

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
