The Pattern Emporium Unwind

I have had a busy couple of months. I saw the tester call for this pattern, and I liked the style, but I just COULDN'T. I can't do everything, as much as I might like to. 😜

**Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to make a purchase using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.**

This is the Pattern Emporium Unwind... and I'm so excited to have one!

This will be the perfect pattern for the fall as the weather begins to change. It is the perfect piece for looking put together while also being super comfortable.

All About the Pattern:

The Unwind Sweater/ Jumper is a dolman style pullover top. There are no separate sleeve pieces as they are all one piece with the bodice. It is very easy and VERY quick to make!

It can be made in many different fabrics, and looks great in all of them! You can see a video that Kate made about the Unwind, showing her many versions, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QbqdbsK01w. She made quite a few using different options and different fabrics, and they're all amazing. If you watch it, fair warning, I'm sure you'll want to make one! 😉

The Unwind has many options! You can choose your sleeve length - short sleeve with hem, half sleeve with band, or long sleeve with band. You can choose which length you want your top - anything from crop length to long top length. There are two separate cutting lines for the regular and tall lengths. The hem is finished very easily with a hem band.

There are many options for the neckline including a crew neckline, a relaxed neckline, a hood, or a turtleneck.

PLUS: if these options aren't enough for you, you can purchase the POCKET ADD-On to go with this pattern here: https://patternemporium.com/products/unwind-sweater-hoodie-top-pockets-add-on-sewing-pattern?aff=70.

My Fabric:

As I mentioned, you can make this pattern using just about any fabric! I have had this liverpool for a couple of weeks trying to decide what I wanted to make with it. I love this fabric, y'all, and I wanted to choose a pattern that would do the fabric justice. Initially I wanted to make a dress, but with the print of the fabric, I was having a VERY tough time narrowing down a dress pattern that I thought would look great.

Finally, I remembered this pattern. I messaged Kate to get her opinion about whether or not the liverpool would work well - she reassured me that everything works well with this pattern, so I went with it. And I'm SO glad I did, because I'm pretty much in love with this sweater!

This is Liverpool from Amelia Lane Designs. All of their liverpool is on sale for a few more days - through the END of September (2020). So it's a great time to grab some to try out, or to stock up if you know you love it! 💓

Reasons I Love Liverpool:

Liverpool is actually one of my favorite fabric types! I love many of them, but liverpool has been a favorite for me since the first time I tried it! There are several reasons... my biggest reason is that it is so easy to sew! It has structure and is just very easy to sew. Another reason is that it hardly wrinkles, like EVER. Like I've crammed a dress made from liverpool into a suitcase and pulled it right out to wear without ironing! It's like a miracle fabric for packing!! It also has an amazing texture, and is just beautiful!

So remember to check out the sale on liverpool at Amelia Lane Designs before the end of the month!!

I get so excited about new patterns. 😊 One of my favorite designers is releasing TWO new patterns together this month, and I'm thrilled to share about them! **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns used for this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I'll receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The first new release- the BESTIES TEE This tee is so fun, with quite a few options! You can choose whether you like the flared tee or the banded tee. It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.  Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for slee

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect f

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I decided to
