Perfect for Layering... Perfect All By Itself - The Starting Point Tank by Winter Wear Designs

I know what you're thinking. I don't need another tank. I thought that too when I saw the tester call for the Winter Wear Designs Starting Point Tank, but it looked like a fairly simple, quick sew to get me back in the swing of things after the holidays. So, I eagerly applied to test. And... I'm pretty happy I did!
Let me tell you about the tank...

This tank is one of the Wardrobe Builder Patterns at Winter Wear Designs, meaning that its only $5 forever! I love these $5 patterns. They're all beautiful, and just as amazing as any other pattern, but they're perfect, fairly simple sews for filling up your closet. They truly are Wardrobe Builders. This one is designed to fit close to the skin with negative ease, so obviously requires stretch fabrics. It has two neckline options, the scoop neck and the deep scoop neck. You can finish the tank top with bands or binding. There are separate cut lines for regular length and petite length included in the pattern.

Why I love this tank...

Like I said, I was skeptical... why do I need another tank pattern? And negative ease? Will it be flattering? But, as soon as I put it on, I LOVED it. I love the way it fits, and the way it looks. In fact, I'm pretty sure I want to fill up my closet with these for this summer. Is that reasonable?

It's meant to be a layering tank, and the close fit is obviously perfect for that. Check out Suzanne's new sweater that she released with this tank. I didn't test it, but it looks amazing with the tank! Several testers made both together! If you want both, she has included introductory pricing for both patterns separately or as a bundle.

Why I love Winter Wear Designs:

You may have noticed, I sew a lot of Winter Wear Designs. I love participating in her blog tours, and I never hesitate to sign up for a pattern test (when I have time 😉), but it's because I love her patterns. I love them for a couple of reasons... I love the fit. I know not everyone will have this experience, because it depends entirely on your body measurements, but these patterns fit my body type/ my measurements perfectly without blending sizes. I love that. Easy to print, cut without making changes or decisions. The only thing I have to do with  Suzanne's patterns is widen the shoulder a little. Apparently my shoulders are a little broader than the shoulders width for which she drafts. That's okay, because it pushed me to learn how, and to work harder on getting my perfect fit!

The other thing I LOVE about Winter Wear Designs is how detailed her tutorial is. Not only does she include plenty of photos or drawings to help you figure out every step along the way, but she also includes instructions and helpful guides in the beginning of most of her patterns to help you figure out what adjustments you may need before you start sewing (and how to do them if necessary). Not all designers do this, and I think it's pretty awesome!

Lastly, I love Winter Wear Designs because Suzanne is so sweet and helpful! She has been so responsive and helped me work through fitting and how to adjust pattern pieces, when I needed help. She has an active Facebook Group where you can get assistance if needed too!

So... go check Winter Wear Designs out!

If you've never made a Winter Wear Designs pattern before, it's the perfect time! You can go check out one of her freebies, or try out this new, super fun, easy, and cute pattern! Either way, I'm sure you'll fall in love and be a fan like me! 💗

Free and Easy... Sewing the Agnes by Halla!

I love trying new things when it comes to sewing. I love learning new techniques, how to do things different ways, and figuring things out. For the most part, I also enjoy trying new-to-me pattern designers. This was my first ever pattern by Halla  - the AGNES . Yep, I downloaded it a long time ago when it released, but this was my first time ever making it! I downloaded it with intentions of trying it because it was so popular. It may have been popular because it's a FREE pattern (you can get the code to download it in the Halla Facebook Group ), or it may have been really popular because it's FREE and REALLY AWESOME. This blog tour gave me a chance to find out for myself! I participated in this blog tour put together by Kate of  Sewing from Scratch ... the idea is that we would all sew the same pattern, but make it our own. If we love it as is, we sew it as is. If we want a cute bow (Gwen😉), we add a cute bow, if we want to make all the adjustments to get our perfect f

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I decided to
