The Linea A-Line Skirt pattern by Wardrobe by Me

I love skirts and dresses. I wear them a lot, especially in the summer months when it is warm outside. I have wanted a pattern for a knit a-line skirt pattern for a while! I have pencil skirt patterns, but sometimes prefer something a bit less-fitted. I have skater skirt patterns, but as much as I like them, they require so much fabric. So I've been on the lookout for a good a-line skirt pattern for months probably.

When I saw the tester call for Linea A-Line Skirt by Wardrobe by Me, I got excited! It's the skirt I've been looking for, and it's a designer I love!

All the Details about This Pattern:

This pattern is drafted for US Sizes 0-24. It is to be used with knit fabrics. You can use stable knits or drapier knits. There are three different views. View A is the shortest, which falls around knee length. This is the one I made. View B is a little longer, and has pockets. View C has a really beautiful flounce piece to make the hem full.

The skirt has seams in the front, back, and sides. However, if you prefer, you can eliminate your seam allowance and cut the front and back pieces on the fold. This is what I did. I think the seams would look so nice on solid fabrics, but I didn't want a seam in the middle of my floral print, so I chose to cut on the fold instead.

I know that pattern says that View B has pockets, but you can totally add the pocket pieces to any view you choose! 😉 My skirt is View A with pockets!
Fabric and Notions
For this pattern, you will need a knit fabric with some stretch. You can choose a stable knit (such as liverpool, scuba, or ponte), or a drapier knit for a different look. You will also need a little strip of interfacing if you are adding the pockets. Lastly, elastic is required for the waistband, so be sure you have some 1.5" elastic that is at least as long as your waist measurement.

My Skirt

As I mentioned, I sewed my skirt using View A length, which hits just at about the knees. It's a perfect, comfortable length. I added the pockets to mine, which have already come in handy for holding keys when we go to the park! My skirt is made from a liverpool fabric. I love sewing and wearing liverpool. It sews so easily, and is super comfortable to wear. Big bonus... it doesn't wrinkle!

What to Pair with the Skirt
I had the hardest time deciding what to wear with my skirt. I had some red solid rayon spandex that came as a bundle with this liverpool, so I already knew which fabric to use! But, I was stuck between making a Daisy Dolman and a Wardrobe Builder Tee.

The Daisy Dolman is a bit of a looser fit, and if I chose this pattern, I planned to tuck it in and let it blouse out a bit.
The Wardrobe Builder tee is a slimmer fit, and I thought it would look best left out over the skirt.

Ultimately, I chose to go with the Daisy Dolman because tucking a shirt in would still allow me access to my pockets!

I didn't have time to sew either before turning in my final pictures for the test, so for those photos, it is paired with a solid white, slim-fitting, v-neck, store bought tee. I like this look too though!

So Head on Over to the Wardrobe by Me Site.... and check this pattern out for yourself! 💗💗

I couldn't resist making a matching outfit for my sister! 💗💙

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
