The Sinclair Zoe

Back when Oxana decided to retire the Zoe, I didn't get it. I procrastinated, and thought, "Do I REALLY need ANOTHER dolman pattern?" And, I missed the retirement sale. And, it's true, I have many dolman patterns. I was counting them the other day... maybe my dolman pattern collection could rival my wrap dress pattern collection! 🤣 But I love them all, for different reasons. And, I'm just here trying to try all the patterns apparently, but it is really fun to try new and different things.

So... when Oxana decided to revamp the Zoe, I immediately applied to test it. After all, clearly, I NEED another dolman pattern! 😜 I was immediately drawn to the dress version in the line drawing. However, that's not what I made. I fell in love with the top version after seeing one or two testers tops! And, y'all I love this top!

**Disclosure: I have included my affiliate links to the patterns mentioned in this post. If you choose to purchase a Sinclair pattern using my link, I will receive a small commision from the sale at no additional cost to you!**

I'm glad I chose to test, because not only did I get a new pattern, but it also forced me to go ahead and sew it, and now I have a new top that I can LIVE in. Seriously... it's super comfortable! Check out my Zoe!

This pattern makes the perfect relaxed fit tee or dress. It's super cute, can be worn casual or dressed up, and is surprisingly flattering for its relaxed fit. I love it SO much!

Let Me Tell You More:

The pattern is a very easy sew. I'm sure it could be made in less than an hour, cut to finish. It has a relaxed fit everywhere. Both the top and dress version have the typical dolman style sleeves, and these are finished with fold up cuffs rather than hems. They are quick and easy, and very cute. They set this pattern apart from many others. The dress version has a drawstring at the waist, to pull it in for a very flattering fit. The top can be made as a relaxed fit top (that I made) or a top with a drawstring at the waist as well. All of the options are very nice!
Sewing the Top:

The pattern went together very easily. The instructions were so good for every step. The basic top that I made is probably the easiest version to sew, however, looking at the instructions for the top and the dress, no version looks too difficult.

Styling the Top:

The top is a very relaxed fit. The pattern recommends wearing the relaxed fit top with a more fitted bottom, such as leggings, a pencil skirt, or skinny jeans. For my photos, I paired the Zoe with my favorite Penny Leggings. Seriously... I'm wearing them ALL THE TIME. I really need a second pair! This is probably the most comfortable outfit in my closet! My favorite thing about it is that it can be super casual and perfect for wearing around the house, but if I chose to dress it up with heels and a necklace, it would also be the perfect outfit for going out... and I would still be super comfortable! 😉

So Head Over... and check out this pattern while it's on sale!

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

Fun, Fast, and Free - Fresh Looks for Summer!

When I first saw the information about the "Boys in Summer" Blog Tour hosted by Made for Little Gents , I knew I wanted to participate! My boys are the reason I started sewing! I HAD to participate. But, what would I sew? I contemplated what I might make for a couple of weeks, and then it hit me... it would be super fun to highlight a couple of great freebies! EVERYONE loves free stuff. Free patterns are a great way to try a new designer out before making a purchase, they're perfect for adding some variety to your pattern stash without spending money, and they're just super fun... because more patterns = more stuff you get to make. 😁 So the freebies I'm going to talk to you about today are from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop . I love Peek-a-boo patterns. I've made a few of them for my boys and have tested a few as well. I feel like the instructions are mostly geared towards beginners, so any skill level can be successful with her patterns. I've really en...

Getting Dressed for Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween was never my favorite holiday. It was just a day where some people dressed up. I don't particularly care for dressing up, so I haven't since I was a little girl. But... I have two sweet boys now. And one of them LOVES Halloween. So I'm participating in all the costume sewing, fun holiday-themed tee making, and Halloween-themed blog tours, and am actually really enjoying it! 😉 Today is my day to share on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Low . Okay... so I'm actually just sharing some Halloween-Themed tees, but they're so fun! I promise to show a picture of their costumes too! Daniel loves ghosts, pumpkins, costumes, candy, scary stuff, Halloween Decorations, everything Halloween related. I don't know where he gets it, but he loves the holiday. So, I have happily now made him 4 costumes in his life, and for the last two years, I've made him a couple of Halloween-themed shirts. So, for my day on the DIY Hal...
