Liverpool Joggers 😍 - The Urban Sweats by Wardrobe by Me

I've used liverpool MANY times. It's one of my favorite fabric types, but generally, I've only used it to make dresses and skirts in the past. But now I'm wondering why!

Liverpool makes AWESOME joggers! They look nicer than actual sweatpants, but are just as comfy. I can wear them and still look "put together" but feel like I'm wearing pajama pants! That's really cool, right? It's enough to make anyone happy! 😉

So when I got this beautiful mauve, floral liverpool from Amelia Lane Designs, I immediately planned to make a pencil skirt to go with this dolman top I made a couple of weeks ago. But then, when I was ready to cut, I just wasn't feeling it. I was not sure I would like the pencil skirt with the top, so I hesitated. And I thought about it. And thought some more.

Then I scrolled through some pattern makers' websites, and I spotted these joggers. I've been loving on Wardrobe by Me patterns here lately, so I decided it was the perfect opportunity for me to try out another one!

These are the Urban Sweatpants by Wardrobe by Me:

I love them in Liverpool! I can't believe I've never tried liverpool pants before!
This pattern is one of the older WBM patterns, so it doesn't have the size range of the newer ones, or updated ones. It includes US Sizes 2-16. I'm kinda hoping Christina chooses to update this one in the near future, because it's amazing! 😉

This pattern can be made with french terry or sweatshirt fabric with a little stretch. I think my liverpool had a bit too much stretch, so I took some of the width out.

The pattern is made to have a fake, decorative fly, a ribbed waistband with elastic (I used my liverpool), can be made with a decorative stripe down the side seams of the legs, or without, and can be hemmed or finished with cuffs. There are also pockets (YES!!), and there is a shorts length option included as well.

The pattern is drafted for a height of 5'8".

My Pants:

As I mentioned, I believe the amount of the stretch for this fabric might have been higher than recommended for these pants, so I had to take them in a bit. Next time I sew them using a similar fabric, I think I will size down.

When I cut my pattern out, I cut it at the long length. However, after trying them on, I decided cut them down to capri length before adding my cuffs.

Another adjustment I will make next time is the rise. While the pattern is drafted for 5'8", I measured the inseam length, and it was very close to mine. I think I have a longer than normal inseam. So I decided to keep all of the length, and just adjust at the end. However, I didn't consider the height of the rise. They come up a bit higher than I would have chosen, and since I didn't make a toile, I didn't know! I know, I know.... always make a toile, but I don't usually. These are still super wearable, and super comfortable, and making these lets me know what I should start with next time. So this can be my "wearable toile," right?

Note to self: Don't ONLY pay attention to the inseam length next time!😉

The Tank Dress 3-ways by Pattern Emporium

It's been a while since I posted. I've been sewing, helping my kindergartener with virtual school, and living, which just hasn't left me with a lot of time for blogging! Life happens!  But... I've kind of missed writing, and I decided that now was the perfect time to make a new post. I had the opportunity to sew a pattern I really liked, and I got excited enough to find the motivation to write about it! 😉 **Disclosure: I have included my affiliate link to the pattern used in this post. If you choose to purchase a Pattern from Pattern Emporium using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** The pattern I tested is from Pattern Emporium. I love their patterns for a few reasons. I've posted before that I have kind of broad shoulders and on with some designers I have to adjust patterns to fit them. There are a couple of designers that seem to fit me well with no adjustments to the pattern pieces and this is one of them. I

New Athletic Set - ALD fabrics

Every month, Amelia Lane Designs is featuring a new fabric of the month. The featured fabric type is discounted throughout the entire month! It's so nice if your favorite fabric type is featured or one that you've just been wanting to try.  This month, the featured fabric is Athletics! I LOVE the athletics from ALD! And, the best part is, every time I make something new from athletics, I get motivated to move and exercise!   **Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** This Set:  For the top, I used a fabric called " Sportivo ." This is a nylon/ spandex blend. It can be used for athletic tops, sports bras, and even swimwear. I LOVE this fabric !  For this top, I used the Marin from Sew A Little Seam . This is a swim pattern. I planned to sew a crop top version with this for an exercise tank, but when I finished, I decided to
