Daniel's New Pajamas - CKC Josh

Well, a few months back, I saw a pre-order for this fabric. I KNEW Luke would love it, so I ordered some. I knew it was iffy whether or not Daniel would like it. But, for the last several weeks, he has REALLY gotten into Paw Patrol and Mighty Pups, so he fell in love with the print. He possibly likes it more than his brother.

So when I saw the tester call for the update of CKC Josh's Pajamas, I decided to use some of this really fun fabric and make Daniel a new pajama set. Kristen was really needing some testers for shorts to fill the test. Many testers wanted to do the pants version since we're mid-winter here in the U.S., but Daniel likes to sleep in shorts, so I applied to test!

Daniel loves them y'all!

Want to hear about the pattern?

The pattern is a knit pajama pattern that has options for short sleeve or long sleeves, and shorts or pants. The short sleeve/shorts version is hemmed, while the long sleeve, long pants version has banded sleeves and ankles.

The pants and shorts have comfortable not-too-fitted fit, which I love, while the top is your traditional fitted pajama top.

Daniel's Pajamas:

I honestly don't think he's ever loved a pajama set this much. He was so excited to put them on for pictures... he acted SO SILLY. He kept giggling and singing the Paw Patrol song. 🤣 Unfortunately, it was raining the day we took pictures, which may have made the situation worse. We usually take pictures in the yard, and if the kids move, so do we, but in the house, we don't have much usable space for pictures, so we made do. We used a little corner of his room, but there wasn't much space for anybody to move!

Of course, since the pajamas are Paw Patrol themed, we had to incorporate his new favorite Paw Patrol toy into the photo-shoot.

And... y'all, I've never had such a hard time getting him to take something off. He wore them the rest of the afternoon after we took pictures, all night, and we had to make him take them off for his bath the next day.

I won't lie... it made my heart so happy that he loves them so much! 💖

The Fabric:

As I mentioned, I purchased this fabric on pre-order, but there was some retail available. Both the Pups and the Paw Print coordinate are on a cotton lycra base. The fabric is a nice quality. It came from Elevated Fashion Fabrics. She usually stocks several colors of cotton lycra, and occasionally runs some custom prints as well. Her prices are AMAZING y'all. Her solids perfect for my boys, and the best price I've found for solid cotton lycra. So if you haven't, check her out! 🙂

So Check Out the Pattern!

The pattern will be on sale this week! It's a fun little pattern for the perfect pajama or lounge set!

Breaking Ground... FINALLY trying out Itch To Stitch

I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Itch To Stitch Patterns, and I've been meaning to try them out. In fact, I may own one or two, but have never sewed them. When I heard about this "Breaking Ground" Blog Tour, I knew it was the perfect time to try out one of these designers that I've been wanting to try, but apparently haven't had the motivation to sew. I had a scrap of this liverpool left over that I really love, so I had to find the perfect thing to make. I remembered seeing this cute petal pencil skirt on the Itch To Stitch site. It looked easy enough, and would be perfect for my fabric, so I thought, "Why not start with that?" **This post may contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase from my link, I will receive a small commision of the sale at no additional charge to you.** So here we are... the push I finally needed to spend a few minutes sewing (minutes is right... it's a fast sew). Look at my new skir...

It also has a couple of lengths - for the hemband to sit on the waist or the hips.  Both versions can be made with several necklines- three different rounded necklines, a v neckline, or a squared neckline. They both have several options for sleeve lengths or two choices for sle...

January Releases from Amelia Lane Designs

I always get so excited about new fabric releases from Amelia Lane Designs. Frequently, they give me the opportunity to sew something I might not otherwise and try something new. I have learned a lot sewing for them, like how to sew swim and athletic wear. But I've also learned that I actually LIKE wearing fun prints and designs that I haven't always worn.  ** Disclosure: I have included affiliate links to patterns used in this post. If you choose to purchase a pattern using my link, I will receive a small commission of the sale at no additional cost to you.** For this release, I tried something that is really not me - this fun animal print! There have been a few releases recently with fun animal-print fabrics, and I have not sewn any of them, because I thought I wouldn't like wearing them. But after seeing some of the other sewists in the ALD Facebook Group sharing their makes, I knew I HAD to try it! I am really glad I did. This dress makes me so happy! This fabric is a d...
